    WTF ? [IMG]

Where did that come from ? That was utterly random... first Kingdom Hearts, then Trackmania, after that GTA and now Masseffect o.O.

I start to believe in the theory Gameplay over Graphics.

Hm, Mass Effect is awesome, but how would it work on the DS? It's meant to be a big-budget presentation-heavy kinda game.
I guess they liked making Sonic Chronicles so much, they wanted to make another DS game.

I think its highly possible to do and wouldn't really have to be trying to push the system in terms of graphics. I don't mind if they'd go 3D or 2D, they could achieve some very beautiful 2D backgrounds.

Some of the story could be handled through cutscenes I guess but I'd rather that they didn't.

If this ever happens the key to it being a success is creating something that suits the DS rather then trying to shoehorn what the original was onto the DS. Ninja Gaiden DS did very well by taking this route.

    What theory? =P

My interest is piqued. I never did play the original (as I lack good PC specs and all) but it would be interesting to see the game on the DS as well.

Some redacteurs wrote that they consider the last Gen (Ps2, XboX GC) and the current handhelds (PSP, DS) to be all that the current gamer need, since they think PS3 and Xbox360 are overrated Platformoptions.

    Futher they say that:

    - Metal Gear Solid 4 could easily have sold more if they had made it on PS2 while loosing nearly no features Gameplayaspect-wise

    - Rockstars decision to make a GTA on the DS is further proof that people will play a game on a lower tech system as long as it works the same as on bigger consoles.

So the conclusion is that they think that the current gen systems (except wii, psp, ds) are overrated and should have never been invented and they where fine with last gen graphics.

They also think that the customer would be happy with PS2 or even DS Graphics for that matter.

I guess Bioware Rockstargames and Square Enix and even Trackmanias Developer think the same (not to forget Activision and EA).

I don't disagree that gameplay-wise, with the exception of the Wii, all games this generation could've been made last generation, only with worse graphics and physics..

But, the 360 and specially the PS3 have a lot more processing power than last generation, if developers stop using this processing power for shinny graphics and realistic physics and start using it for stuff like better AI than we'll start to see some real "next-gen" games [IMG]

Now, for Mass Effect DS, if the Sonic game sells well, it could become a reality, and could be great.. people seem to have forgotten how great were all those Playstation RPGs with pre-rendered backgrounds and cinematics, well, the DS can do more than that.. you don't need fully realistic 3D environments to have a good game..

You good sir, win the internet

On topic, bring it. If they don't rush it and make it a streaming pile of bullshit, I won't mind playing it, seeing as I never played too much of the PC version.

I highly doubt this game will be good. You might say you don't need graphics, but try going back to a really old consoles game. Just try... you get bored as soon as it starts up because it's horrible graphics hurts your eyes.

Kid I can happily play games that are 30 years old and enjoy them just as much as today's classics.

Also I've fount that some 2D game age a lot better than some 3D games.

EDIT: Cockroachman, I'd doubt he's 13, just ignorant. My nephew is 8 and can enjoy H.E.R.O. and that came out in 1984.
