There's a list here, doesn't look like one specifically exists for the 3DS currently.

If I had to guess, it shares the same save format as the other releases of the game (not Afterbirth), and extracting it with SVDT should work.

It should work, but I'd recommend getting SVDT instead. Also wouldn't hurt to make sure you have the latest Ironhax (version 2.5).

SVDT runs on your 3DS. It's more or less a much better version of save data manager.

As to actually editing the save once you have it, just Google for PC instructions I guess.

No, it don't work. All save editors crash when trying to use this game, because it's seddb encrypted!

This. If you're on 9.2 or lower you can use PC BoI mods with this game and even edit your save, but if not, you're out of luck.
