i might trade my sister monitors and give her 15$ her monitor is HP W19 and then buy a 5670
OR
ill buy an LG W2043T and keep my 4650 i would like to do this because clearly the monitor is better but will it heavily impact my FPS in games?

right now i play l4d2 maxed at 40-50 fps with 4650 at 1280x1024

i only have 145$ -_-

The monitor does not really impact anything. The video card is the one doing all the work and sending what to show on the screen.

you should just buy a 1920x1080 screen, they are not that expensive these days

yes resolution would effect framerate but you can just set it to lower and enjoy the bigger screen for everything else

@ BlackDave you say that but I find the screen is what you spend the day staring at and a bad one makes for as bad an experience as any component that lacks if not more so.

My suggestion- monitor, it will still with you for a while unless you decide to go 3d or something and the 5670 will be on clearance soon enough and game requirements have stagnated somewhat (at least as far as what you can get away with).

The only problem with a higher resolution lcd monitor, is with a weak gpu you won't be able to run it at native resolution and get a steady frame rate, meaning visual quality won't be perfect. With that said, I'd still get the monitor out of the two.

well depends on how old the screen is too. Quality and stuff

My gaming laptop has great specs but the screen is 14"

1280x800 is my max resolution.

But it makes an awesome gaming console much more portable

Games still look descent.

Besides I got HDMI to my 32" TV with 1920x1080

have you played games with that oc?
it will work fine on the desktop because its running underclocked but as soon as you start rendering 3d it might crash
