Hacking best wii mod chip..

i don't want to start a flame. I've done some search here but don't have all the time to filter through them. If you you could post your opinion and reasons. I'm still debating whether i should mod my 1st gen wii or wait for a soft mod down the road? But i'm starting to think that the soft mod is much much further down the line so maybe i should mod it.

In that case which chip(s) are above others in terms of compatibility, future proof, and installation?

If you have an early Wii, then the Wiikey is probably your best choice. It's cheap and it works. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's also the most popular modchip out there, making it even easier to get help if you have a problem with it. If you have an older Wii, the D2Pro9 v2 is probably your best choice.
