Hacking Best way to run NDS roms?

Hello, I have researched a bit how to run NDS roms without flashcart and as I can see there are many ways and guides, but some of them are outdated, or under performing (games lag, crash or cant save the game) and other problems. So what is the ideal way, today, to run NDS roms on 3ds without flashcart? Any help is appreciated

Install TWiLight Menu++ Updater (link below) and run it on your 3DS to install TWiLight Menu++ and nds-bootstrap.

Why buy a flash cart when TWiLightMenu plays almost everything worth playing already, and with pretty much all the other perks of a flash cart like cheat support? Unless some ROM you really want to play doesn't work on TWLMenu or you're wanting the homebrew support, I don't see the point anymore (and I own multiple flash carts, barely have a use for them now outside of sticking them in the old DS Lite).

I have my own flashcart, but I'm having trouble keeping it running without problems. My 3ds sometimes randomly decides to stop reading from it and my game just crashes. I've heard it's because they are manufactured smaller than usual cartridges, so I added some layers of tape as recommended, but it's still doing it. I don't want to deal with it anymore since it's been giving problems since the start, so I was looking into other alternativs.

Anyways, thanks for your help. It's really appreciated. I will take a look at Twilight Menu++

nds-bootstrap's current compatibility supports MORE than 99% of the whole NDS library with at least close to cart speeds (that's "at least", almost all games run at cart speeds). Now, either use TWiLightMenu OR Forwarders (which is what I use), both work great and since they are both frontends for nds-bootstrap they can play pretty much any game you could want without any issues unless it's a less known game with weird mechanics/programming.

You can use SD card alone for nds-bootstrap (which is both TWiLightMenu and Forwarders) and almost every game works perfectly fine at close to or exactly at cart speeds, while you can also use a flashcart as well even if not needed, in which case ALL games become 100% playable (but for pretty much every single one of the good games you don't need it at all).
