XFlak, I haven't read all recent replies, but I was going to mention that ModMii 4.4.2 closes itself after downloading NeoGamma. But, it doesn't happen only with NeoGamma (for me). It happens with any big (4mb+, like CFG, WMC, WiiXplorer, etc.) files which are downloaded withn 30-50kb/s range. I have a 2MB connection and most stuff I download using ModMii reaches 240-250kb/s, but some files, don't, and the big ones which are downloaded slowly causes ModMii to close itself after sucessfully downloading it. It happens with both my Win 7 x64 and Win Vista x86 (desktop and notebook).

People is not taking it seriously... maybe it would be better to remove that option and modify the previous one with something like "more than 30".

• IOS236 updated to v5 MOD to install IOS236 quicker and without prompts

Basically its the same as the original except it automatically begins the installation, so it requires users to press less buttons and also increases the chances of it successfully installing before potentially experiencing a stack dump caused by the HBC network init bug.

you are correct, 4.4.2 does indeed crash after WMC, WiiXplorer, etc. But the fix I added for NeoGamma in 4.4.3 actually fixes the problem for all of them.

But the thing is, if I remove the over 9000 option, those ppl who are BSing will just answer >30 instead. At least this way it's easy to spot which answers are real and which are BS.

i have previously modded my 4.2U wii using pimp-my-wii 2.11.

Using Mod-Mii, I am wondering if I could install weather and news channels (JAP) on the 4.2U wii, maybe to replace the original USA channels or as additional channels? Thanks for your help in advance!

I've never tried that, and I don't think it will work, but I don't know for sure. I would advise against installing anything that is meant for a different region.
You can always region change your Wii from USA to JAP then install those JAP channels, but region changing is not supported by ModMii as it is again not recommended.

However, it is possible to safely region change your Wii using "Anyregion changer mod06 for 4.1" (see the bottom of this link: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/AnyRegion_Changer) then use ModMii again, this time telling it that your Wii is JAP. But be very very very careful if you attempt a region change, if done incorrectly and u don't have bootmii @ boot2, u can brick your Wii.

I downloaded the Lego indiana Jones from torrents and burned a DVD. I cant use it to mod my Wii.
When I insert it in my 4.3 U Wii, it gives an error. Is it really required to have an original wii for the mod?
Also, once I mod, will I be able to use the burnt DVDs?

you can only use a downloaded copy with a modchip and a D2E or older drive

u need to be able to launch the game to mod your Wii. If you're wii has never been modified before, it wont be able to launch a backup disc no matter what (makes sense right?). So even if the Wii is old enough to play backup discs, u would still need an original copy of the game in order to mod your virgin Wii (edit: assuming it doesn't have a modchip)

All wii's can use usb-loaders, but only older wii's without the new d3-2 drive are able to play backup discs. If you have a new wii with the new drive, u can always replace the drive with a non-D3-2 drive and it will be able to play backup discs.... but backup disc launching is pointless when you can just use a usb-loader instead

Well, modchips like wiikey fusion flatmii fusion and wode che launch iso from sd or usb, no matter which drive is inside the wii.

Also, Once I have that, do I still need the original game to mod my Virgin Wii?

Virgin 4.3 wii cannot be modded without one of the the games required for the exploit.
If you have a chip suitable for your drive you can use a backup otherwise you need the original game.

the original game is required to install the Homebrew Channel (HBC), once u have that installed, u don't need the original game with an exploit anymore. Also, a disc based exploit is only required if u are on 4.3, if u are on 3.0-4.2, u can use one of the versions of bannerbomb as an exploit instead of a disc.

A USB-Loader allows u to save Wii Games to a hard drive, then play them off of the hard drive without ever needing to use the original disc and risk scratching it.

A USB-Loader forwarder channel is installed a part of the ModMii Wizards extra brick protection, but unless you actually set up a usb-loader, the forwarder channel will not actually do anything. So after you mod your wii using the ModMii Wizard, use ModMii's USB-Loader Set up guide to help u set up a usb-loader. Once u do that, plug the hard drive into the bottom usb-port on your Wii, and start the usb-loader forwarder channel (or launch the usb-loader from the HBC) and it will start the USB-Loader. From there u can backup your original games to the hard drive and play them without needing the disc anymore.
