Are you "rehacking" your Wii? i.e. do you already have the HBC installed? If so, you don't need to use an exploit (i.e. Wilbrand) in order to update your softmods.

Your SD card needs to be inserted before the first step of your guide, it doesn't matter if it's inserted before the Wii is turned on or if it's inserted after loading the main Wii Menu.

Also, a common mistake ppl make is copying the COPY_TO_SD folder to your SD Card. You're supposed to copy the contents of the copy_to_sd folder to your SD card (i.e. it should look like "SD:\private", "SD:\apps", etc.)
Yes I know that, I was not just copying it like "COPY_TO_SD/apps/" or so on and so forth. I copied the actual contents. Yes my Wii is already hacked with HBC installed, I was just testing to see if WilBrand exploit would work which it did. I checked onto yesterday messages and voila! That green letter was there.

So in the end, what was the problem? Were you trying to use Wilbrand without an SD card inserted in the Wii?
That and I think it might been the fact that the SD card was not formated to FAT instead of it being FAT32.
But thanks for being patient with me XFlak! I really appreciate the help. It was just on my side that I was doing it incorrectly.

So I just used the SU function to update my softmodded Wii... All it added to my SD card were two d2x. I installed them as the guide advised, now Configurable USB Loader won't start. Any ideas? I'm on 4.2U.

Edit: Well, deleting and redownloading CFG USB Loader fixed it. No idea why installing new d2x would change anything. Hopefully it doesn't fail once I recustomize the loader.

Assuming it was working before the update and that no other minor mistakes were overlooked (i.e. USB HDD still formatted properly and plugged into usb port0) the likely cause of your issue is a HDD compatibility problem.

Compatibility for the latest recommended cIOSs are pretty high, but you may have a HDD that doesn't play nice with the d2x v8 base 56 cIOS. You could try reinstalling the cIOS249 you had working for you before (the cIOS details should be in the syscheck log you made before updating).

Alternatively, you could try installing d2x v8 base IOS58 as your cIOS249. Often base IOS58 cIOSs are compatible with HDDs that other bases don't work with.

There are other cIOSs you can try assuming the above suggestions don't work out for you. If it doesn't work let us know and we can make further recommendations (i.e. hermes cIOSs, etc.)

I'll hopefully be able to let you know what the problem was after I incrementally set up CFG to the way it was before I reinstalled it (which has it working currently).

Edit: Found it. Bad config.txt from running an old version of Configurator on 70r34. it's a different format, so the loader wasn't able to... load. :P

I found the real issue. I made several tests with different SD cards brands and the reason WilBrand exploit was not showing up in the messegeboard was because my Wii and my sister's friend Wii seem to not like FAT32 SD's but instead will take FAT. Don't know why but eh. Thing is that: FAT= shows up / FAT32= not show in messegeboard(Yesteday)

Try clearing your temp folder (or rename it) and see if that gets it working.

If that doesn't work, keep your eyes peeled while it's actually running for any on-screen errors. Also, you can try just installing neek (instead of installing neek and building an emulated nand) and see if that makes a difference (it shouldn't, but at least u won't need to repeat the WHOLE process of building an emunand over and over again)

Btw, I just re-tested it, and all seems to be working properly. The error your getting is definitely being caused by a failure to properly download the sneek installer, autoit, 0000000e.app, 00000001.app, font.bin or neek*.zip. When ModMii classic is running, it should be obvious which one is failing.

tnx for the help,
i fix the problem with "neek2o rev75 not installed properly" it depends from windows 7 64bit, with XP i don't have problem.
But, now i start bannerbomb (firmware 4.2e) from the sd menu and than i can see:
casper v0.2
by giantpune
Path: "sd:/bootmii_ios.bin"
IOS flags 254 v65281

but it freeze here (i insert the pen usb on the second slot of the wii).

How i can fix?

Thank you

I use Windows 7 64 bit, so I doubt it has to do with that. It's possible there's something else going on with your win 7 machine that's unique.

Mauifrog was just mentioning issues with casper loading neek directly. Check out our convo here and try using one of the suggestions mentioned in it: http://gbatemp.net/topic/318748-casper-by-giantpune/page__view__findpost__p__4237970

edit: I'm assuming this is a virgin Wii and you're using ModMii's abstinence wizard?

Anon10Wz, oibaf1979 was talking about casper, normally you only use that with a unmodden wii..so its fair to assume he was talking about the abstinance wizard.
Xflaks remark is needed for toubleshooting his problem, i am guessing that his win7 environment is not set up correctly or he didnt delete the contents of his temp folder completely, or he has very bad luck with timing.

@Anon10W1z,
You're mistaken.

The abstinence wizard gets users to load an emunand via neek via casper via an exploit. And he mentioned casper in his error report, and only ModMii's abstinence wizard uses casper.

And the error isn't wasn't with building an emunand it's with building neek2o, and neek2o is not part of the emulated nand.

edit:
@Etheboss,
He said he got the ModMii error to disappear, so the issue should not be anything PC\ModMii related any longer.

Oh...(personally, I just use a neek2o channel or switch into, you know, [email protected])

EDIT: Let me elaborate. I don't see an point in me sending a Wii to Nintendo, waiting forever for them to fix it, and then sending it back (What I could do under a warranty). Besides, my warranty expired years and years ago, long before I even knew how to hack a Wii.
