The discless exploit(Wilbrand) is not working at all. I have entered my MAC adress correctly in ModMii an gave me no error. I turn on my wii and it's been 30minutes and no green letter yet. And yes I do Have the contents downloaded into an 4GB SD card inside the wii. Also the wii is 4.3u and the one that does not support gamecube games. I tried letterbomb, entered the mac adress and no letter from it either. and yes my wii is connected to the netz. I would appreciate any help.

Edit: Also using ModMii 6.1.4

are you navigating to "yesterday" in the msg board?
Yes I am and only getting that white message saying what games I played and channels. I even went back 3 months and forward and nothing.

Edit: I am strongly assuming it's the WilBrand exploit not working right or something. And to make sure I connected to internet I went to internet, news, weather and Hulu channels and internet works.

Edit2: I just tried this on my wii(already softmodded) using letterbomb and Wilbrand and nothing, I am not getting it on there either. Something is going on and yes I am entering the correct MAC adress.

If it's not much can you try doing it too? Just to see if it's not only me having this issue...

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago, turned out the date was set wrong on the Wii.

Well considering I checked 3 months back and forward(checked every day) I have not seen that letter yet. Also the date on my wii and the other borrowed wii are correct as I last remember. But I will double check.

Edit: The dates are right.

Can I have one info about make a RegionChanger with ModMii?
I don't need to make that and I never do that, I want only to understand something

Ok for make a nand backup...
OK for install system IOS, SystemMenu, Region-Select, and EULA.
And ok for priiloader for be safe.

But exactly, Any Region Changer, what change on Wii? (only something for make working good WiiShop?)
If (for example) I don't make this step, what's happen? (what won't work?)

ps: I thing (IMHO) that can be usefull if with ModMii, using RC, there also a question for "download active IOS". With this an user can go from an obsolete 3.2U to a 4.1E with all IOS just updated in only one step.

THANKS!

Originally I had planned to add a region changing option to the standard ModMii Wizard (so people could go from a virgin 3.2U to a modded 4.1E), but after speaking with DeadlyFoez decided it was best to leave them as separate functions. The idea is for people to run the Wizard first to install the HBC, active IOSs, etc. then after they're finished with the Wizard if they still want to region change then they would have to follow another short region changing guide. The main point of leaving them as separate functions is so that people don't take region changing lightly, it's not something that should be toyed around with just because you can (especially when there are alternatives like *neek or region free usb-loading)

Do you know if the WilBrand exploit is just me or it is not working at all? Because if it is either I guess I'll go with the twilight route.

Edit: Twilight hack not compatible with 4.0 and above... fffffffff I am screwed aren't I?

Edit2: Though letterbomb still shows up from when I use it to hack my(alreadysoftmod) wii. Hmm...

AFAIK you're the only person having issues with it.

TBH, normally when one person and only one person is having issues with something it turns out to either be user error or an SD\USB compatibility issue.

But it is so odd! Regardless if I do/don't have an SD card inserted into the slot the letter should still show up! I know its not my router's settings or anything because I have not made changes to it.

Though the only things that I can think of is that it's my internet(somehow?) or I am not entering the MAC address correctly which I know I am, I check before I press enter.
Oh now that I am talking about the MAC address, when I enter it, do I put the "-" part too? Or just space it?

AnyRegionChanger makes several modifications to your Wii. Many settings have to be in sync (as in, they have to belong to the same region) with each other for a Wii to operate correctly. I don't have access to my Wii right now, so I may be forgetting some, but these change:
  • The language needs to be one supported by the current System Menu you have. For example, you can't try to use Korean on an NTSC-U version, because it's not coded in.
  • The country code needs to be in the correct region. This wasn't always the case however. I believe it was changed because people were changing their code to Japan, purchasing points (which are cheaper than in the US and Europe), then switching it back to the correct region and spending the points on the Shopping Channel.
  • The video mode is set to the appropriate region because it won't output the correct video mode for your TV. This isn't as big a deal in Europe because TV's there tend to support more video modes, but if it is set to PAL on a US TV, most likely you will get a "No Signal" screen or the screen will flicker so much that it is unreadable. This applies to homebrew apps as well (since they output the video type depending on what setting you have), not just the System Menu. That is the reason I made BLIND.
  • The Game mode is changed. The Wii is region locked, and without using a loader like Gecko OS or Wiiflow, it will only play games that match your Game setting.
  • The Area mode is set to one that your region supports. I honestly don't remember what happens if it is set to something else. Probably something bad, so don't try it.

It makes no difference whether you input it with spaces, dashes, or neither (just take a look at ModMii's onscreen examples).

And you definitely got your facts mixed up. Wilbrand\letterbomb do not require wifi access on the Wii to work and they definitely require an SD card to work. The Wii msg board allows you to backup msg's to an sd card, what Wilbrand\letterbomb does is creates a message\exploit tailored to your Wii's mac address so that the msg board will detect it when the sd card is inserted (i.e. the message board sees it as a msg that has been backed up to your sd card). The exploit\msg is NOT sent to your Wii via wifi, it needs to be loaded via the SD card.

Jesus.. and I thought I knew alot mo.. err okay, well let me format my SD card and try to "rehack" my wii to see if that letter will show up. Also just to make sure, I insert the SD card with the contents I downloaded from modmii before I turn on the wii correct?

Edit:

It works!!! It was my sister's friends SD card that was wrong. Because mine is FAT and hers was FAT32.. Hmm.. Somehow I feel stupid.
I am going to assume her wii does not like FAT32

Well thank you XFlak for your help. This was just a modding that went wrong on my part I guess.

Are you "rehacking" your Wii? i.e. do you already have the HBC installed? If so, you don't need to use an exploit (i.e. Wilbrand) in order to update your softmods.

Your SD card needs to be inserted before the first step of your guide, it doesn't matter if it's inserted before the Wii is turned on or if it's inserted after loading the main Wii Menu.

Also, a common mistake ppl make is copying the COPY_TO_SD folder to your SD Card. You're supposed to copy the contents of the copy_to_sd folder to your SD card (i.e. it should look like "SD:\private", "SD:\apps", etc.)
