Should I update my softmods, everything is working fine including DL games from usb but there were quite a bunch of updates to cios and I'm wondering if it's worth installing them, I'm always afraid to install updates when stuff works in case there are regressions. currently on d2x v6 from previous modmii versions.

You're fine with v6. You can update to v8 if you really want to though.

You're fine with v6. You can update to v8 if you really want to though.

Depends if youre lazy like me or not , Im also at v6 and have no issues.
Id say just stick with what you have until you encounter some problem, thats what Im doing lol

I think I'm even still on v6 or v7... but then again I spend infinitely more time working on ModMii on my PC than I do playing my Wii, lol

Xflax - Just wanted to update you.. Random game hangs were solved by turning off hard drive sleep and also fully updated all IOS and cIOS - sweet as a nut :-)

I think I need to double check if I have a note in ModMii's usb-loader setup guide about disabling HDD sleep-timers. It's frequently overlooked and probably a worth while addition to my guides... but it's been so long since I've actually read one of my guides that I can't remember if it's already there or not, lol!

Thats quite common amongst programmers, they spend so much time staring at the code they forget how the application actually looks like for the end-user

Having an odd bug I can't seem to get past. Or else I am just doing something wrong.

I'm reading in cIOS d2x v8 final's Readme.txt (Yes, I do read them!) and it tells me, from ModMii's main menu, to press 4. then, from that menu, type "BETA". I do both and I get cIOS d2x's selection screen. I am attempting to get the featured download, v8, so I press 1. It returns to page 4 of the downloads list, and from there I press "D" and ModMii tells me that I have nothing selected for download, therefore preventing me from downloading it. This is all on the latest version, v6.0.5.

I'm sure I'm doing things right, but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

Enter 249d2x56 press enter key
Enter 250d2x57 press enter key
Then enter D and press enter key and enter Y and press enter
Wait for files to be down loaded and then enter O and press enter.
Copy the files to the WAD directory on your SD card.

XFlak, I wanted to report a "bug",

I was in a situation where I used one of ModMii's dependencies and accidentaly moved it instead of copied it to the desired location. It cleverly noticed and did something not so clever.

What happened was it set its version to 0.0.0, "checked" for an update, found v6.0.5, and opened the changelog and prompted me to "update". I had to type "Y" to this myself. I have to say two things:

a) Can you please make ModMii not open the changelog and
b) Why prompt to redownload?

Just a note for the next version.

And also the fail sound doesn't play when download fails. Windows Media Player
a) Says its a different soundtype than what matches the .mp3 extension
b) Can't play the file.

I built in a check for some missing files long ago, and forced an update prompt in order for modmii to function properly (ie. download the missing files). So yea, this is on purpose, and this isn't something that should happen frequently, so I think you can deal with the changelog popping up in these cases.

About the audio track, it sounds like your missing some audio codecs on your windows machine. Are you able to hear the success sound alright?
