2.5" and 3.5" both can work on the Wii, but compatibility varies based on the drive itself, you should check out the compatibility list to make sure.

You should make sure the HDD has free space, you should also make sure the cover directories\folders already exist (cfg should be able to create them if they're missing, but may as well try). Also, I suggest you forget about NTFS and reformat your HDD as fat32, not only does it have more stable write support, but it is the only filesystem supported by neek or mighty channels, etc.

im not on about inches of the drives in talknig about USB Speed
(the USB 3.5 is a brand new product and it has amazing speed) but i think it works with older USB ports

the USB 3.5 i havnt put anything on it yet so might test that after a fat32 format

do you mean USB3.0? If so, compatibility isn't that great with the Wii. I got my Seagate goflex 2.5" drive to work intermitently using the USB 3.0 adapter, but it works all the time using the same HDD with it's USB2.0 adapter\cable.
The Wii only supports USB2.0 and below, that could be the issue.

its USB 3.5 (64 MBps transfer speed when i tested it)

as i said i havnt used this drive yet

the USB 2.0 1TB drive im using currently is having the problem

would me using it to store other things also cause issues?
as i have personal files on it as well as the Wii HDD files

I'm pretty sure you mean USB3.0, not 3.5. Can you post a link to the HDD in question so I can get a better idea of what you're talking about?

having other files on the HDD is not a problem but a lot of fragmentation can sometimes cause issues, you can try defragmenting your HDD to make sure.

As I said, I think you should reformat your HDD to FAT32 (ModMii's usb-loader set up guide can help you do that), if the problem persists then try a different hard drive (or even a different usb-loader, like WiiFlow).

This tool is awesome, modded my Wii and my friend's Wii without a hitch. This tool makes me want to hack MORE Wiis, but there aren't any laying around for me to hack

Your company had to have bought it from somewhere, rather than taking a picture of it, see if you can find an ad for it somewhere online. But yea, I'm 99.99% sure you meant USB3.0, there's no such thing as USB3.5 (unless your talking about a 3.5 inch HDD)... and if there is, I have no idea how that happened and I didn't hear about it, lol.

Hi XFlak,

Would you mind if you could make a (down/up)grade selection on the main menu? It's kind of irritating having to go through the ModMii wizard to downgrade the Wad and stuff.

Or, you could take it and put it in the region change section.

Thanks!

You should never have to upgrade\downgrade after using Modmii once to mod your Wii, so I think it's a pointless feature request

if you want to streamline the process for your own personal use, I suggest you familiarize yourself with ModMii's cmd line support, just open a cmd window where ModMii.exe is saved and type "ModMii help" for more info. If you need help you know where to find me :D

Delete bannerbomb from your sd card. it's in sd:\private\title\atkn or something like that. find the "atkn" folder and delete it.

thanks mate, could i just format my whole sd card, i have backed up the nand and key bin files,or is there other things i need on there for usb loader and stuff or do i not need any of the files on my sd anymore.
