that's not helpful, can u at least edit it and put it in a spoiler?

Anyways, the issue was the version of syscheck u were using, I guess I should put a restriction on ModMii's syscheck updater to use only the 2 versions of logs it was designed to support (ie. the 2 versions available on ModMii's download page 2)

your syscheck log says "sysCheck v1.5 by Erik Spyder" which is not either of the versions supported by modmii

I'm not gonna argue with you but that's where I got it from, I re-downloaded it again and everything on my Wii is up to date but now the problem is the Wii boots into bootmii menu, how can I fix it to boot into the system menu? thanks for the hard work of ModMii :yay:

xflak, I plan on updating my buddies mod with ModMiil. The first time I modded it a year ago the USB port that is normally used failed to read a hard drive. Does modmii install Hermes as well in a normal configuration? I want to try switching the USB port to the other to see if we can get his hard drive working, though I'm still trying to figure that one out too lmao. Right now he can play his own made backups via the disc drive, but obviously USB loading would be better. I have successfully upgraded 3 Wii with Modmii, thank you very much for your app.

rename the bootmii folder on your sd card to something else.
Another option is adding a bootmii.ini file to that folder.
You can give the bootmii screen a timeout, so that it continues automatically if you don't push the wii power or eject button.
@mega man x
some harddisks don't work very well together with the wii. Unless the lower usb port is broken, switching to the other usb port won't help much.
It is however possible that the harddisk works with the hermes cios but not with the waninkoko or dx2 ones. Modmii has an option to download the hermes cios as well.

Thank you both! SO I guess I just need to find out how to switch the usable port. What happened with the wii was that it would not read any USB drive, even with one that was already working on another wii. Although if the USB controller IS messed up, there is little hope for it....

Dear XFlak,
My Wii was soft-mod a year ago (by someone whom I'm not sure how it's done).
It's a Korean set but its system version has now been changed to ver4.2U. After the soft-mod, I can play games from HDD (formated in WBFS).

I've just bought an original game "Call of Duty - MW3" and the screen freezes when I try to play the original disc which I suspect my Wii was not being properly mod.

So, I've tried using modmii. When I run BannerBomb v2 from the SD Card & after boot.elf is launched, 3 Scam warning screens appear before Wii is freeze.
Screen 1: Load boot.dol/elf? [I click Yes & it shows screen 2]
Screen 2: If you paid, you were scam. [Appears for a while before screen 3 appears]
Screen 3: THIS SOFTWARE MUST NOT BE SOLD,....

After Screen 3 appears, the screen just freeze there.
Below is the copy of a file called installer.log which I hope it might be helpful for your reference.

Will appreciate your help.

Sounds like the hackmii installer is having issues installing\updating bootmii@IOS, which is now done automatically\silently when first loading the installer (since v0.7). It's possible your had darkcorp or some other funky softmods which is throwing the installer for a loop (although your installer.log would be helpful, u mention it but forgot to attach it).

Try running ModMii's hackmii solutions wizard, if u have problems loading wiimod, revert to ModMii v4.7.6 (available on google code) and use that (that version still uses mmm, which I'll likely be reverting back to in the next ModMii update).

It could also mean that your IOS files in the 5X range need to be updated.

@bnm81002,
from ModMii's main menu, enter "C" then "BM". There's also a wii app called bootmii configurator or something like that u can use if u prefer

@Rockhoundhigh, I don't think it's supported on neek2o, u can build the original neek using ModMii by disabling the neek2o setting in ModMii's options page

Two questions:

I've just updated my Wii with ModMii since I haven't updated my cIOS in a few months [maybe a year or so].
I just tried out a few usbloaders: WiiFlow, CFG and GX. [Good to see dev continuing for GX loader, last time I used it, it was almost abondoned]...
Loading COD:BlackOps only works on CFG loader with ios 250. In Wiiflow, i cannot select 250 and the others i can select [roughly 202 thru 236] load to a black screen or error.

1) Which version of WiiFlow is downloaded through ModMii?

A syscheck update for ModMii had me downloading and installing these:
Your unique list of wads to install are as follows:

* IOS11v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS20v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS30v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS40v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS50v14889(IOS50v4889[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS52v15661(IOS52v5661[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS60v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS70v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* IOS80v16174(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP-VP])
* cIOS202[60]-v5.1R
* cIOS222[38]-v4
* cIOS223[37-38]-v4
* cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
* cIOS249[56]-d2x-v6
* cIOS250[57]-d2x-v6
* RVL-mios-v10
* IOS12-64-v526
* IOS13-64-v1032
* IOS14-64-v1032
* IOS15-64-v1032
* IOS17-64-v1032
* IOS21-64-v1039
* IOS22-64-v1294
* IOS28-64-v1807
* IOS31-64-v3608
* IOS33-64-v3608
* IOS34-64-v3608
* IOS35-64-v3608
* IOS36-64-v3608
* IOS37-64-v5663
* IOS38-64-v4124
* IOS41-64-v3607
* IOS43-64-v3607
* IOS45-64-v3607
* IOS46-64-v3607
* IOS48-64-v4124
* IOS53-64-v5663
* IOS55-64-v5663
* IOS56-64-v5662
* IOS57-64-v5919
* IOS58-64-v6176
* IOS61-64-v5662

So I now have these cIOS from ModMii on my wii:

* cIOS202[60]-v5.1R
* cIOS222[38]-v4
* cIOS223[37-38]-v4
* cIOS224[57]-v5.1R
* cIOS249[56]-d2x-v6
* cIOS250[57]-d2x-v6

The d2x v7b1d package contains:

* cIOS245[37]-v7b1d
* cIOS246[38]-v7b1d
* cIOS247[53]-v7b1d
* cIOS248[57]-v7b1d
* cIOS249[56]-v7b1d
* cIOS250[57]-v7b1d
* cIOS251[58]-v7b1d

2) Is it safe to update to cIOS v7b1d now over the older ones, or should I wait?
I only ask because the latest wiiflow seems to need it as well as the latest GX loader.

Thanks.

EDIT: OK, I've found that the usbloader tutorial in ModMii is downloading a wiiFlow boot.dol dated 12-25-2010... I replaced it with the latest r417 and BLackOps loads fine now.
Maybe ModMii update for more recent usbloaders?

@Satannuts: you can always open wiiflow and check for yourself (there is a question mark or "options" option on the HUD, after which there is a setting with the credits. That one lists the revision number as well). Wiiflow (even the newest revision) certainly won't NEED that beta, but it doesn't hurt to install them (you're looking at the wiiflowiki page, aren't you?). At worst, you can still use modmii to download and overwrite 248 and 249 with d2x v6 again. Though I don't think it'll be needed (I haven't tested v7 much, but it was pretty stable in beta2, so I don't think there'll be much issues left).

Anyhow...I just opened this thread to give a big thanks to Xflak. I picked up a virgin wii yesterday (a 3.1E), and hacked it with modmii. Until now, I mostly advised modmii because the other parts of it are great...but now I can tell from first-hand experience that it is as easy as everyone (including myself ;) ) claim it is.

There were two slight issues, though.
One was caused by the hard drive, so nothing to do with modmii (check the neek2o thread for details).
The other one was in the step where I had to install the IOS and cIOS with wii mod 3.0. Unfortunately, running wii mod resulted in a black screen. Maybe not that uncommon, as there were no cIOS installed and IOS58 wasn't there either, but still...I just put MMM on the SD card and installed it that way.
Now I haven't checked the pages, so I don't know if I'm the only one whose wii mod blackscreened. But if not, then it may be better to at least make a note that MMM could be used as well. :)
