I was thinking that I'd like to get my dad an old 3DS or 2DS and load a fuckton of puzzle games like Picross 1-8 (plus some classics that he might like like Mario&Luigi and LOZ:ALBW, etc). It doesn't need to be connected to the internet as he's not that tech savvy and it's highly likely It's going to get games added to it later.

My question is, what would be the best solution that is easy to use where all i need is the hardware and a SD card?
Thanks.

I decided against it. My dad isn't really technically inclined and still uses a MacBook with a PowerPC processor as his main computer. I was hoping for just a system that was as straightforward as if I bought the games from the eShop, and not some hodgepodge that I'd have to drive six hours to his place to sort out when he inevitably forgets one of the hurdles. I'll just get him something else.
