Money is no issue here, however I need the slot2 to do these things.

    Be able to run Opera
Be able to play Desert Strike for the Genesis with little or no problems.
Be able to play Gameboy games with NO patching.

    I have a M3 Simply DS

There are a few threads dealing with exactly this, still:

    Browser
    You a limited to
M3 with ram (i.e. not professional)
    G6
    Supercard (not rumble)
    EZ4 (maybe EZ3 as well)
    EZ 3 in 1

Desert Strike, You will need an emulator for this. Picodrive is DLDI based these days so it should work on the simply, I warn you though do not expect much from it: framerate is in the low 20s for fairly simple games: fine for RPGs and basic platformers. There is a desert strike advance however (early rom around 420).

Gamebpy: Does this mean GBÂ or GBA?
GBA: no cart does not have to be patched, if you want GBA I strongly suggest something from the EZ/M3/G6 line.

GBÂ I am not sure what has inbuilt but just make an emu once in a while.

You have to patch the Opera ROM for it to work

Yeah I dont mind patching the opera rom, I just dont want to patch GBA games. I also dont mind the no rumble feature. So the m3 lite would be the best choice ?

There is no slot 2 cart that will run GBA games as easily as the M3 simply runs DS games.

I don't think you need to patch GBA roms to get them to run on the M3 lite, but it won't create the save files for you. You still have to either run the roms through the game manager or create the save files manually.

Patching is easy. Basically all popular gba carts need their games to be patched.

I always go by my own guide:

    Only DS: SuperCard Rumble
    Only GBA: EZ IV Lite
    GBA > DS: M3 Lite
    DS > GBA: SuperCard Lite
    Homebrew: SuperCard Lite
Best looking in GBA slot: G6 Lite

    You can't go wrong there...

Rumble just sounds cool. Theres no point for it. Seriously I have a EWIN rumble pak and the rumble is good but there is no point for it

If you go by this, you should avoid Supercard [IMG]

I don't think there is too major of a difference between the G6 Lite and M3 Lite case from the outside (the M3 slot is on the inside). AFAIK, the EZ IV Deluxe (the one which supports GBA) sticks out of the DS Lite a bit. As price is not a concern, the M3 Lite would be a wise choice.

The M3 Lite is pricey though. The EZF4 Lite Deluxe looks good though

Well it depends now. Whether he wants a flush fitting case, or saving a few tens of dollars [IMG]

Only anal bastards looking for fodder to slag on EZFlash products would say the EZ4 Lite Deluxe or Compact aren't flush... The .03 mm's or so it sticks out is only noticeable if one goes looking for it.

And yes I made that measurement up. [IMG]

Lol, SuperCard has the best DS performance of the slot 2 devices. I have done many tests and no matter what microSD the SuperCard performs better. However for a cool interface, 100% better GBA, the M3 Lite and G6 Lite are available at a premium. The SuperCard Rumble can be bought for very cheap and it offers near perfect DS performance with Rumble support.

And KidIce I agree with you but it seems that the dimensions of the product really determine its selling point. The EZIV is a great device for GBA but it just isn't worth the money you could spend on the M3/G6/SC.

If you want the best homebrew, perfect DS with any microSD, alright GBA, and the lowest price then the SCL is for you. Bash the SuperCard team all you want the Lite version was the best device they ever released.
