I found that I can purchase an 8164b at newegg, but they only have beige. Who uses beige anymore?

Any idea as to where black ones are available?

Any DVDRW drives that have been found to be able to rip?

    Thanks!

youre better off with a good quality (and cheap) liteon burner instead of some LG junk burner. I'm going to buy a USB case for my LG 8164B cause i dont want to even install it in my PC.

Do a bit more digging on Newegg. I found some black ones by going to the listing for all LG products, then pick CD/DVD ROM (not writers). They do have the 8164's in beige and black for the same price.

Strange... I believe that's exactly how I searched. I'll have to look again later. Any chance you want to link me?

I have a Samsung 16x Lightscribe burner BTW, and a Lite-On sitting on the desk here. I also have NEC 35xx series burners in two other PC's and an LG external as well!

As far as I know, the only drives that will rip are the particular LG readers, not writers.
