So I've just built a pc, i5 processor, 8gb ram, dedicated graphics (can't currently remember which).
It was purely an emulation pc for an arcade cab I'm building but while I am setting the PC up thought I might get and run some old games on it, things I might have missed out on.
I have a ps4/switch which I hardly use so wouldn't mind something I'm not likely to have seen on these systems.
I know it won't run gta5, the new doom but there must be some games a few years old that it can run.
Would love some first person shooters or open world games?
Just got fear 3,not tried it yet but I did love the first one so hopefully it works?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I would start by booting up boot up PSCX2. Use your PS4 controller with a software called ds4windows.
The PS2 has the most awesome library witch run shockingly good nowadays on PC it will run on your system so easy to set up.
As far as pc games go it depends there is so many free good games I am a lot into MMO myself lots of them free to play to many choices for you!!

There's not really enough info about almost any of the specs to really give you a for sure list of games without going even farther back, but I can recommend a few that you should be able to play well.
Call of Duty World at War (for the custom zombie maps, best game for it imo)
tabletop simulator (great steam game that has almost every board/card game in existance on the workshop for one single price of $20)
Pretty much every 2d metroidvania should run well so stuff like Hollow Knight, Momodora, Timespinner, etc..
Layers of Fear is a pretty good horror game
Dishonored is pretty good (you should probably be able to play this one but I can't say for 100% certainty)
The list could go on forever

idk about crysis or the later bioshock titles or the borderlands ones. Poor optimizations on bl games, and Crysis well it's Crysis

even a first gen i5 dates the majority of this pc pretty well, so i feel fairly confident that he likely has somewhere around a gtx 550 or something higher than that as a gpu, which should be more than enough to run all of these
