if you liked the series, tengen toppa gurren lagann is sweet.
its giant robots fighting, but each attack is a mini-game, depending on how well you do the minigame is your attacks strenght. i guess i'd label it as action rpg....

you dont need to know japanese to play through the game, but there is a LOT of story to it, so be prepared to tap through a lot of dialogue.

well imo the best Japaneses game out there is dragon quest 4 it doesn't have that powerful graphic like FF4 but it has the most important thing GAMEPLAY.

then again you might want to try FF4 too cause it's also a very very good RPG tho those 2 games have an english patch but still they are not full patches i think.

Iron Feather will be a little hard to play without Japanese Knowledge because you need to read hint to know specific location for next destination...

My obsession has been FFTA-2, but that and Kono Sekai and GyakuSai 4 are all scheduled to be released in English soon.
