OC ps vita 100% safe, i start overclocked from 2017 with oclockvita and then lolicon release i use it till now, my battery still can play 4-5 hours (PS vita slim) but whatever dude if u scare
Trust me if u want to play the best version of gba just run natively with MGBA and overclock it

GpSP in retroarch works with most of the games without needing to overclock. VBAnext is the alternative if things goes wrong (Golden Sun 2 is working fine).
mGBA is inferior to VBANext. It works slower and have no benefits compare to VBAnext
