I noticed a thread running in the Xbox/360 forum about best game of the century and it got me intrigued. What's everyones favourite games and what are the ones they think are the best? Don't just post your favourite games, post games you think were the most inventive, the most trendsetting, the most influential. That kind of thing.

For consoles post your favourite, the one you thought was the most influential, the most inventive, same kind of stuff.

If people want I can actually break it down into categories to vote for but I was just more looking for everyones opinions.

Most Important consoles: Atari 2600, NES.. since then, nothing has really changed.. the Wii might be the most innovative thing since then.. we'll have to wait and see if the next generation will be influenced by it

Dude! How dare you all neglect to add Gunpei to the list of inflential people in gaming! If it weren't for him, who knows what we'd have if not for his creating the original GameBoy

    As an influential console:

    My top is Dreamcast.

It was a fantastic system with GREAT games (hell, Soul Calibur looked BETTER on the DC than the arcade, thats a huge step for that time period.)

But more than that, it showed other consoles how to NOT build a system. They are taking MUCH better care about how to protect copyrights because of how broken the Dreamcast was designed.

And, i still have my DC and i play it constantly. Its not THE MOST influental... but it is VERY hight on the list.

WOW, i use CAPS a lot for EMPHASIS.

The greatest system ever is the Game Boy Color, and the best games ever are The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages.
