Im sure its been asked a million times already, for that im sorry but im still need some help. Im looking to get a NDS Lite this Christmas (gift to myself

) and am wanting to get a flash cart at the same time. I did alot of research on carts about a year ago before the 1 slot solutions started coming out but now im kinda lost when it comes to what to get. I originally had my eye on the EZFlash V + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3-in-1 combo at DealExtreme which meets all of my requirement im just wondering if there was something better out there.

Heres what im looking for in a flash cart.
>Great NDS Game support (Most importantly Mario Kart)
>Great GBA Support (My GBA must get list is almost as long as my NDS list)
>SNES Emulation support
>Upgradeable memory
>Under $75 Total Including 1GB MicroSD

I dont care about any other homebrew support other than SNES Emulation and are there NES Emulators for the NDS? I also dont care if its a 1 slot or 2 slot solution just as long as it supports GBA. An help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

>Great NDS Game support (Most importantly Mario Kart) Yup, newest firmware has 100% game/download play/wireless/etc.
>Great GBA Support (My GBA must get list is almost as long as my NDS list) That's dependent on the expansion cart, I'm not sure.
>SNES Emulation support SNEmulDS (the current-best emu) works fine. It works better with the expansion. The emu is on version 0.6a(alpha). It is currently being developed. Super Mario, ZAMN, and Mother works near-perfectly.
>Upgradeable memory Yup, MicroSD rocks
>Under $75 Total Including 1GB MicroSD If you buy from DealExtreme (free shipping!)

You could buy a different flashcart (CycloDS?) but it'll but it over your $75 limit. Personally, I'd wait for the M3 DS Real (better game support + GBA support + ?Same Price?) but I'm definitely more comfortable with the R4

Oh i forgot to add its not a necessity but i would like the GUI it to be skinable. Also what are the benefits of the R4 Bundle over that of the EZ-Flash Bundle?

The r4 is easier to use. No settings to set, nothing to patch. Just put the clean .nds files on the card and it'll play it for you. The firmware is also extrememly easy to use. Just copy it to your r4 and voila, you're done. The r4 IS skinnable and you can find many skins at ndsthemes.com. I don't think anyone would recommend the EZ-Flash over the r4.

Currently, for it's price, the r4 is the best DS cart. It's so easy to use it introduced an entire army of noobs to the little section of the intarwebs people here like to call GBAtemp. (including me, of course)

Have they fixed the download play on the R4? The review here says it had issues. The review also says SNEmulDS failed but the review is about a year old.

R4DS + EZ 3in1 the best pack around (cheapest and easiest)

I still think the R4 is better supported than cyclos DS

I don't think so, the R4 team is pretty good but I've heard great things about the Cyclo team (or was it the G6 team?). Either way, R4 is best for your budget and needs. Everything is 99% perfect. Only things that don't work are the Wii connection and SDHC but both are supposed to be supported with the upcoming firmware. (I'm a little unsure about the SDHC though, sounds impossible to me). And yes, you need the 3in1 expansion pack to play GBA roms, but if you bought the EZ flash you would have two cards anyways. You can't play GBA roms without a slot-2 card. And you can't use slot-2 cards to play NDS games without a passme (which is built into the R4)

Short Answer:
Just get the R4 plus the 3in1 expansion pack.

Thanks for all the replies looks like ill be getting a R4 with a 1GB Kingston and the EZ-Flash 3in1. Next question would i be better off just buying Mario Kart cause I foresee myself doing ALOT of online bouts or is the downloaded one play just like the original (ie stats and matchmaking).
