Hacking Best Firmware to SoftMod a Wii U plus a few Questions ?

So im looking to get a Wii U and would like to know what is currently the best preferred Firmware for a Wii U to be on that allows it to be the most completely modded etc ?

5 questions well reasons id want to do this if you could answer thx:

#1 Can i play all of the original Wii retail games library from a harddrive.
#2 Can i play all of the Gamecube library from a harddrive ?
#3 Can i play all of the Wii Virtual Console games ?
#4 Can i play all of the eShop specific indie titles made for Wii U ?
#5 What should i avoid or not do in order to get my console banned or bricked etc ?

much appreciated if i could get answers to my main querys thx.

Any firmware will work. Have a look at https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-noob-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.451297/ for instructions. You should install Haxchi or CBHC.

5. There's not a lot to go wrong. The guide tells you everything.

    If you got an older system Linux might be preferred but newer hardware I'd stick with windows

    So you'll have to sideload alongside Windows. You can have one partition for Windows and another for Linux.

    Lutris can be a pain in the dick to use and figure out settings

    As for virtual machines, they're not generally the best for playing games due to limitations. Closest would be SoftGPU which are third-party drivers for graphics.

    @AncientBoi, If it's already installed, it does tell you to remove the installation media afterwards such as the USB stick or DVD that you installed LM with.
