I know what I'm going to do when the new game comes out. I'll make a patch for the Japanese version!
That's right, I'm going to make a JP to US converter patch when it comes out!

Actually, it would be pointless, because of 2 reasons:
    1. The patch file would be 100MB (tested with Platinum).
    2. Save files are already region free.

I'm using Magnius' translation. Kazo is out of his project, but you can still download his.

This was a sarcasm, right? What's the point in doing that?

That was sarcasm, pointing at the people who don't know that Pokémon saves are region free.
I tried to make a JP to US patch for Platinum (just for fun), and the patcher spat out a 100MB patch file.

Well, I use Kazo's v6, but maybe Kazo has stopped. There hasn't been a v7 in a while. Still, the cross-compatibility of the saves will be very handy anyway. I'm just worried about anti-piracy, because Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days and Mario and Luigi 3 have been a huge problem as of late, so I can't imagine what these games will be like in April (or whenever it is they are coming out). That's why I'm avoiding the hassle and just going to buy Zelda Spirit Tracks when it comes out. But anyway, back on topic, Magnius' is probably the best, however, it originally changed the Game ID, meaning your save wouldn't be compatible with any other version. But I don't see anything about that in the thread's main post any more so it might have changed. It does still trim the ROM though, and whilst I prefer ROMs and ISOs untrimmed, it means you save a lot more space on your microSD (well, some flash cards don't use microSDs, but you catch my drift).

^ This... If you want a ROM patch, I'm partial to Kazo's.

When the US version comes out, until a perfect Anti-Piracy Fix Comes out, I will have a translation with the US and JP Text and Graphics switched out. That way, people will be able to play the game in Nintendo's English without freezing until a perfect fix comes.

    Hey Steve, that won't work.
The US text is always in a different order than the JP version's text.

Compare the US Platinum with the JP Platinum. You can't just swap msg.narc files.

    this is correct.

Also I am pretty much done with my translation. there might be a version 7 if someone can finish editing the status icons in battle like slp psn and par. What I have is good enough IMHO. It makes the game playable in terms of navigating items, attacks, menus, etc. I think doing to whole game is a waist of time. nintendo will have there official version out in a matter of months, making any translation patches obsolete. I just think of these translation as a quick fix until the official release by nintendo.
