Hacking Best Card for the NDS

Almost 300 hits, a question, does it matter to all of you that the R4DS has the spring problem?

The spring problem I had was easily avoided as long as you don't push the micro SD card in all the way. You need to push it in just past the catch point and it catches okay.

I have to say, probably overall, the R4 is the best at this point in time. It has very high commerical rom compatiblity (very few flash kits play the roms that the R4 cannot). Homebrew support was alot weaker when it first came out, its come a long way and has much better compatiblity now with the support of DLDI.

The only thing I wish they would improve on is the wireless play, but nearly no flash kit supports wireless play.

Honestly all these cards are damn near the same. So as long as u stick to the big names like R4, SCDS1, M3, G6 then u can't go wrong

The SPRING IS TOUCHEY.
Your best bet is to just be careful.
The EZ FLASH V has a no spring system which has the card on the side so it is impossible to loose. A real plus IMHO..One of the few for the EZ unit..
You know what I think is funny? I doubt it so I will tell you.

IMHO again, It is really easy to say the R4 is the best unit out there. My question is How many of you have ever seen or touched another brand of card? I suspect not many. First lets get something straight. The R4 and M3 are exactly the same hardware. That said the R4 and M3 work pretty much the same. They both work quite well.

As I said it is easy to agree with the tide of R4 users that say it is the best when most of them have no other experience.

Of course you want to believe that you bought the best...that is only natural. It is important to keep an open mind. You have to know that there will be advances and new cards which will be better than these first and second gen cards.

I know I will buy the next greatest thing just as soon as it comes out.
Today my EDC (yes I every day carry my ds) in the DS is an M3 with a 2 gig card in slot one and an EZflash V 3 in 1 in slot two. For now this is the best combination I can come up with.
From a hardware point of view the EZFlash V is a better piece of hardware than the M3 /R4. The problem is the moonshine or whatever it is called ... as the Front end That was the easy way out for the EZ team. The big advantage with the r4/m3 cards is the OS is just plain better.
I am tired of typing good night.

When doubt buy both and send the one ou don't like back..It is fool proof.

i dunno if it was mentioned before,
but why isnt the DS-X added in the list ?

i dont know the other cards, but DS-X is definitly better than some of them

I think this poll is a bit confusing. Some cards are listed by name (R4DS) and some are listed by brand (M3). Taking M3 as an example, does it mean M3 Simply, M3 Pro/Perfect or just the M3 brand in general?
CycloDS Evolution, AceKard and DS-X should be added

This thread was actually made to help the poster decide which card to get, so it's quite useless now. It's well known that the superior card available widely is the R4.
