Verbatim dvd-r considered the best...

Officemax and Bestbuy had them on sale last week for about $25.00 for 100. I am not sure if that sale is over

I've never had a problem with any brand i've used so far.
are you sure you're burning correctly and at a decent speed?
verbatim dvds are usually just really cheap, that's why a lot of people buy them.

i use TDK for CD-R and Sony for DVD-R but most brands work well
Sony had a deal $20 for a pack of 50 DVD-R and you got a Casino Royale DVD with them

when burning make sure you have it on MAX speed

very true lubbo, verbatims are the peoples choice as they are the cheapest. and also agree with burning @ max speed, those who burn @ 2X or 4X either need to get a better burner, or better media.

i personally use HP DVD-R Lightscribes and have no issues burning @ 16X with a TSST (Toshiba/Samsung) drive..

I use Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD-R. Want to learn all about the various brands of DVD's? Visit club.cdfreaks.com and check out the Blank Media forum. Lots of great info there.

It does vary from person to person , but with the Gamma loader most have found that max speed is actually better than burning slow. now everyone is different and some still find that slow burning is better , but i would check max speed first , if that fails try slow.

No , theres a golden rule about these threads - if its not on page 1 , its ok to post a brand new thread with the same question and start it all off again - and by no means are you allowed to use the search feature. You always have to use your first post on a thread like this one

Sony DVD-R's or Verbatim DVD-R's are the best. Why does everyone burn at 2x speed, I use 4x, hell I've tried 8x, and haven't had an issue yet.
