When I look back at it, 2008 was a shitty year for anime, with a few pearls of something actually worth watching.
My vote goes for Kaiba, the biggest pearl in the crap pile of 2008 anime.

On a side note: yes, you can be a pretty funny guy and vote for Pico x Coco x Chico, however Boku no Pico was released in 2006 and Pico to Chico was released in 2007, so you can't vote for those.

Since we're being honest and everything, I might as well say it; Xam'd isn't too bad. Maybe it's because I have a soft spot in my heart for BONES (sorta hardened up after Soul Eater). I mean, it has the shitty BONES pacing and all, but I somewhat enjoy watching it.

To be honest, I got bored of Hokuto no Ken, as manly as it was.

This year had some good animes. It all depends on your taste though since quite a bit of animes had to do with comedy, romance and school life.

Hokuto No Ken is badass even if every enemy dies in like 10 seconds after Ken gets serious. Exploding heads never get old.

Raoh Gaiden is equally amazing, of course.
