I have had my DS Lite for a while now and want to accessorize it a bit. I was wondering what the best quality products in these categories would be:

-Carrying case
-Protective shell (preferably clear)
-Screen Protector

any other recommendations are welcome

Try to make a pen sized stylus from a pen you like. Order a pen stylus from deal extreme, or buy it from circuit city, take the stylus refil out, and fit it into a retractable pen you like. I did it, works well for a stylus when I'm at home playing. On the go, get some of those metal retractable stylii.

The stuff on dealextreme is usually of low quality (fake Hori's and stuff

)

Just get the basics:

A case (or a skin, eg. bestskinsever for transparent protection from scratches)

A better stylus, such as a metal retractable one, or a ComfortStylus. The Hori pen ones or a homemade pen stylus also works well.

Screen protectors, even if you feel that you will not scratch it, because you won't be happy if it happens

Protective casing is pretty good, it kinda makes the DS Lite more comfortable to hold in your hands, but it makes it a little bulky. I have one similar to VVoltz, and it's really great. Also for screen protectors, from what I read Hori's are the best, atm I'm using Pelican's, and they haven't let me down, nice glossy look. On my ds phat I was using pelican's too, but it had a matte finish, so I replaced it with the newer ones, and when I took it off, no residue.

I highly recommend this solid brass stylus from PDA Panache seen at http://www.pdapanache.com/products.asp?PID=NDSLT. It's got a good heft to it that I really like. The only problem is that the weight can work against it and causes it to slip out on occasion. It's also a bit on the expensive side, however if you use your DS nearly as often as I do, it's worth every penny.

After installing the full body skin, i really like it alot, the only thing i didnt like are the actual screen skin protectors that come with the full body kit, i think the hori ones are alot better, the hori ones are clear, while the ones with the full body kit have a foggy glaze to them.

I also got my bestskinsever skin recently. Finished installing it, seems great, but dust gets trapped along the edges of the skin. Can't be helped though

I bought some screen protectors from DX (Hori ones, the "fake" ones), and they are excellent. Cleaning is a breeze, and no scratches any more.

Got a quick question:

Do those clear hard plastic cases scratch the DS surface? Because I notice that they clip onto the DS, so does it ever scratch the DS as its clipping on?

Most are tight fitting, but I'd imagine it is possible to damage the surface in some way if there are particles stuck between the DSL and the case.

Thanks for the quick reply mate.

I was wondering tho more specifically whether the Armorlite case actually damages the DS surface when installing it.
