Hacking beginners advice please!!

Thinking of getting the GF a DSLite (she got me the PSP), and considering getting a R4DS for it also? (good choice?)

Just curious with the backup roms available on sites, its a dumb question but needs to be asked, the DSLite is multi-regional right? i mean a USA/JPY game will work on a UK DS right?

Also does this look ok for a memory card for the R4DS?

i.e. wont lag on performance, or does it have to be a certain speed?

Nintendo has always made region free handhelds, so the DS Lite is no exception to this rule. Sure you can run whatever game you want on any DS Lite. I've checked the card you are considering buying, but you're all the way wrong: Go for microSD cards only as that's the only memory that fits in slot-1 cards (such as the R4DS).
Edit: I advise you to go for cards having this serial: SD-C01G (Japan) they're very reliable.

How do you know what's SD-C01G and what's not?
