Hacking Been Out of the Wii Scene for a While....

So ive been out of the wii scene for a bit, so here's my very simple question:

As of right now, Feb 2010, can ALL Wiis be softmodded? my brother recently declined hacking one because of some supposedly new drives (or whatever) that are coming with newer Wiis now.

Any exceptions? or are we 100% free to hack away?

Hack away, the only issue with newer wii's in the new dvd drive will not read dvd's. So you have to load from usb, which is better anyway.

You will be glad you were forced into using a usb device as it works so much better and you can still backup your retail games throught the drive just fine.

oh you can hack them the only problem is the new drives kill backups from dvds

Would ANY USB drive work? Or does the wii get picky and only likes certain ones?

pretty much any usb drive works you can even load games off fat32 on a ipod
