You could try Waninkoko's Firmware Upgrader 4.1 to get on board with the SD Card Menu. (Make sure you have necessary free space. Safety not guaranteed.)

There are numerous USB loaders to choose from. Waninkoko's, CoverFloader, Configurable USB Loader, and Uniiloader are just some of the loaders.

Preloader (the next-gen Starfall) can help you recover from bricks as seerious as banner bricks. However, BootMii as boot2 is the ultimate protection against bricks.

    - Install BootMii (found in HackMii installer)
    - Upgrade to 4.0/4.1 firmware (using Waninkos Firmware Updater)
    - Install cIOS Revision 13a (also known as cIOS Rev 13 not Rev13b)
    - Buy a external hard drive for backups/ISO and Install your preferred USB Loader (i.e. USB Loader GX)

I also need to upgrade my Wii, I am on 3.4U right now. I downloaded the Rev 13 file and put it in its own folder in the App folder on my SD card, but when I go to homebrew channel I don't see it there. the homebrew channel notified me that there was a homebrew update(I have the original homebrew that I put in many months ago) but I was not sure how to update it, said something about installing BootMii and other stuff, but I was not sure what to do so I just exited. Can you assist me in what I have to do to download the newest homebrew

No, he wants to use 13a, not b. b is slower and just for outdated loaders.

First thing's first. Before I can update the Wii itself I am getting a message to update homebrew channel. when I download the update it brings up this weird screen I am not used to seeing, it mentions Installer, BootMii and something else..and it says continue, what do I have to press to continue with the installation..the + button? because if I press A it exits out of it. Also, can I download the homebrew update BEFORE I install the newest update for the Wii?
