Hi all

Hopefully a quick question although I'm sure there will be mixed opinions.
When ripping games to HDD is it advisable to save and use the BCA?

Thanks

Chris

For the sake of 'complete' ripping, you could save them. But they don't add anything special any further, except for the games that use the BCA data as an Anti-Piracy measure. (Which is only New Super Mario Bros. as I recall).

As Darkmystery said, right now only New Super Mario Bros. Wii needs that file (and actually, it even doesn't need it, nearly all Loaders and SNEEK/UNEEK patch this game on-the-fly).

So no, until now you can skip that part, it's not needed.

The only use I can think of is if you have a WODE and want to use the stealth setting so you can enable backups with Riivolution, other than that it's useless for most people.

Saying that the bca files are tiny, and they might come in handy for some in the future, so if it were me I'd just keep a note of them or the tiny files, but not use them.
