OK seriously people, who writes things like this on the wiki??

That guy goes from saying it's great, to don't use it because of spindown, so don't get it. then back to "never had a spindown" and it's perfect.

The drive is currently 90$ canadian and it's USB-powered, which is what I'm looking for!

    Any ideas/suggestions?

I have a Buffalo 500gb, no issues what so ever.

    £54 from argos, £64 for a 640gb model.

Yeah but the extra 180 GB would be nice. I already own about 60 Wii games and I don't plan on playing them on disc anymore. Loading sucks!!! I already have HD Loader for PS2 and that thing is just fantastic.

I think spindown was fixed in the latest cIOS revisions. At least for IOS222/223, anyway.

If it is the same as mine then still no problems with it with anything [IMG]

    Mine is this one:
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6757151.htm

Note however that they have changed the cases, so mine and yours if you buy one will look a little different (for the best btw) You also get a 2gb USB pendrive in the box too, well I did.

There is no spindown issues etc and it works so far with all wanin cios and all hermes cios.

i have the 1tb version of this.
it works perfectly in every way.
the power save feature is not a problem at all, it is actually my favorite thing about it.
this basically means that when it detects activity, it turns on, and vice versa.
so it turns on and off with your wii.
i can play mp3 files, avi files, SNES roms, and Wii games flawlessly at any given time with 0 issues.
