Hi guys,
Recently I have bought an used "New" 3DS XL. I was worried my battery may be degraded so I ordered 2 different ones.
First of all according to this video a brand new "New" 3DS XL battery should last for 5 hours and 45 minutes on Mii creation screen :
My unit lasted for 5 hours and a minute. So my battery health is roughly 87%. The batteries I have bought are;
Cellonic 1800 mAh SPR-003 replacement battery(I believe this one is suggested here before multiple times) : (Apparently I can't share the link)
And a random 3rd party eBay battery: (Apparently I can't share the link)
During battery mark benchmark, I charged all of them to highest possible percentage.
Auto brightness : off
Brightness : 5
Powersave mode: off
Wi-Fi : on
Nintendo 1750 mAh on %87health :
Total run time: 3 hours 34 minutes (Average : 2:22 Min: 1:07 Max:3:15)
Cellonic 1800 mAh:
Total run time: 2 hours 48 minutes (Average : 1:52 Min: 0:34 Max:3:07)
Ebay no brand 1750 mAh:
Total run time: 2 hours 43 minutes (Average : 1:48 Min: 0:42 Max:3:10)
Some useless information I have observed:
Cellonic battery drops to 98% as soon as I unplug the charger.
Less variation between each 1% charge is on random no brand battery.
The battery I have bought from eBay has really a very cheap look.
I'm not sure if a no brand battery will harm your console but the one suggested here which is Cellonic is much closer to other 3rd party cheaper options than it is to original and it's questionable if it's worth the price. I wanted to share this since others may looking for a battery replacement and may need the information I couldn't find. Unfortunately I will stick with my degraded battery since it's performing the best.
