ROM Hack Band Hero DS - playing Guitar & Bass with DS Lite without the grip

I was wondering, can I play Band Hero DS with a Lite, without the guitar grip?
The first one had the hack to play with the buttons, the second one didn't.
Can the DSi owners play Guitar & Bass with the buttons? If the answer is yes, is there a way to bypass the checking system and THINK he is a DSi?

The game was dumped yesterday. You have to give them time to make the cheat codes. BTW, the second one did have a button hack. And no, DSi owners can't play guitar or bass. It says right on the box that the game is exclusively for DS Lite.
