I haven't really smoked before, so I decided to give it a try with a friend.

..

I got to the point where my left side of the body and right side of the body where twitching at different times in a pattern. The pieces of my mind were broken up into 4 and it was working like a clockwork. My visuals kept cycling through a zoomed in perspective, normal perspective, zoomed out perspective. I didn't know what had happened 2 minutes before but it felt like I can see the future. My friend walked me to my house and I didn't even remember what my name was or where I was at. It got to the point where it felt like my right side of the brain was thinking something and the left side was thinking something else and it created mass confusion. I could barely open my eyes or speak, when someone talked to me I tried talking to them back but quickly forgot why I would even want to talk to them and didn't try. I remember one point my right side of my face went downward and numb and I thought I had a stroke.

The night ended with an ambulance trip --- where they babysat me while having these patterned muscle spasms until 5 in the morning 7 hours after smoking.

So I need your opinions, wtf happened and has this happened to anyone else?

The thing with your mind splitting into different parts happened with me too. It was just two halves though -- and none of that other crazy stuff :P

I almost drove myself to the hospital but was too stoned to find it so I went home.

Never tried it again, lol.

I really don't want to sound like an asshole but probably will at the end of this comment.

Marijuana contains THC which is the hallucinogen in the plant which you are smoking. In other words, it's the stuff that makes you high. Not trip.
This being said, marijuana makes you high but the THC is not nearly strong enough to make you "trip".
And before anyone starts yelling "But my strain is the most awesome hard ass shit you've ever smoked, you don't even knoooowww!", please note that there is not a strain strong enough, sativa nor indica, in the world to compare to any real hallucinogenic drug (like LSD) which will make you trip.
By which I mean, make it seem as if your reality is altered.

If you do however experience a trip-like feeling, it's most likely because you're tense and you make yourself believe that you are in fact tripping.
It's more like a form of an anxiety attack than a real trip in that case.

Of course the THC that you did smoke adds to the anxiety. I'll give you that.
The THC will have left your system in about 5-6 hours usually but the effect will pass in about an hour or 2 usually.

A little advice, quit while you're ahead. Experimenting can be fun but even marijuana can cause damage to your nervous system and cause other long-term problems if used for a long period.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Don't mean to sound condescending, I've experimented in my time. I get it.

I'm pretty sure a lot of it was anxiety attacks. While experimenting was fun, I'm still recuperating from last night.

If you do do it again don't buy from the same guy that stuff could be laced with PCP which would not be good for you.
I know of a person who once bought laced weed and had a terrible trip that lasted 3 days.

Marijuana does not damage your nervous system. It does fight tumors (ask Uncle Sam)

Yet another person trying to justify the use of drugs.
It DOES affect the nervous system, refer to the link that The_Hulkster posted

@OP I hope you're OK now? If I were you, now that you've had your fun just stick away from the stuff altogether.

I beg of you, read the comments

Because people, who probably smoke marijuana themselves say it's a load of bull, it's in fact a load of bull?

You refuse to believe that the THC in marijuana attaches to any receptors in your brain?
This has been studied and documented thoroughly. They do.

Also, prescribed usage is something different of course. This has nothing to do with experimenting for fun at a young age.

Federal researchers implanted several types of cancer, including leukemia and lung cancers, in mice, then treated them with cannabinoids (unique, active components found in marijuana). THC and other cannabinoids shrank tumors and increased the mice’s lifespans. Munson, AE et al. Antineoplastic Activity of Cannabinoids. Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Sept. 1975. p. 597-602.

In a 1994 study the government tried to suppress, federal researchers gave mice and rats massive doses of THC, looking for cancers or other signs of toxicity. The rodents given THC lived longer and had fewer cancers, “in a dose-dependent manner” (i.e. the more THC they got, the fewer tumors). NTP Technical Report On The Toxicology And Carcinogenesis Studies Of 1-Trans- Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol, CAS No. 1972-08-3, In F344/N Rats And B6C3F Mice, Gavage Studies. See also, “Medical Marijuana: Unpublished Federal Study Found THC-Treated Rats Lived Longer, Had Less Cancer,” AIDS Treatment News no. 263, Jan. 17, 1997.

I could post way more but you get the point.

He didn't deny that it MAY have cancer treating properties. Jeez, every time someone says drugs are bad some idiot always turns around a replies with 'but it treats cancer'. WELL WE DON'T HAVE FUCKING CANCER! Go preach that crap to someone that does.

He said it affects the nervous system. Which it does. And there's no denying it.

Sure, there might be some benefits.
But we're arguing about THC damaging the nervous system which you refused to acknowledge even though it has been as extensively researched, if not more, than the upsides of the use of marijuana.
As I have posted before.

@Psionic Roshambo i didn't go amd for one specific reason, the AI performance is way behind nvidia

and now with the rtx video upscaling, and sdr->hdr conversion, even more reason to go nvidia

amd is a bit cheaper though

Cheaper and they are less stingy with the RAM not a big issue now but I can imagine in a yard or two things might be different

    Year not yard lol

the vram is one advantage when it comes to AI but ends up being slower even with that and really AI is the only use case that needs more than 12gb vram right now

    Interesting lol

I think I watched a video where two games at 4K where eating just over 16GB of RAM and it's the one case where the 7900XT and XTX pulled ahead (minus RTX of course)
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So my opinion is that they could age a bit better in the future, and maybe AMD will continue improving them via drivers like they tend to do. No guarantee there but they have done it in the past. Just a feeling I have.
