I recently softmodded my wii but cannot get any backups to work. To insure that I had installed it correctly, I borrowed a backup game from a friend who had a wiikey installed.
The game is burnt on a DVD+r.
Is there any reason this would work on his modded wii but not my softmodded one?

I installed wiigator backup loader v0.3 gamma. The game is mario kart wii. I read the forum but it said that rarely you could get a DVD+r to work. I assumed that if it worked on a modded wii it would work on mine.

Softmods and modchips are totally different systems - have you every tried putting diesel into a petrol car and wondering why it didnt work ?

For a soft modded wii , generally you need DVD-R to be more confident they will work.
You also need the most up to date files and since we dont know where you got them its almost impossible to see what you have
we also done know what errors you get or anything else like firmware version location etc - the more detail we have the better.

error code 324 on every game I've attempted. Lego Batman was also attempted on a DVD+r. Downloaded from mywiidownloads.com. not sure what you mean by "firmware version location"

Yes, Virginia, it's possible to make a copy of most anything you've already burned.
DVD+R = FAIL + Link to site = FAIL^2 + Paying for downloads = FAIL^342789023489042389312890123

Seriously, search. DVD-R seems to be the way to go. I tried a dvd+r just for the hell of it didn't work for me. Sony DVD-R burned at 1x with image burn, no problems yet.

Again, search. There are sooooo many threads on the subject.

if dvd+r doesnt work(it does on some wii's, mine actually) try dvd-r

also make sure your softmod is properly installed. what version of the wii system menu do you have? 3.4? need to downgrade to properly install whatever backup launcher you are using.

also, paying to download illegal copies of games is about the stupidest thing i've ever heard of. if you're going to pirate software... don't pay for it =| that defeats the purpose of not... paying for it.

Hah yeah I was looking at the site too.

I just imagined its links to torrents, half of which are probably dead.

What a scam.

my grandpa is 72 years old and he fell for this kind of scam (for tv shows) a year ago.

I think his main problem is the DVD+R - once he gets some DVD-R discs they may work.
