Is it normal for the keys.txt to be somewhere other than root? Keplez indicated it was backed up to prod.keys, which was indeed there. Not sure if I am taking the instruction too literarly. Everything else worked to the letter, and I appreicate your time and efforts with this.

Keys.txt ends up being placed in the /switch/kezplez-nx folder while prod.keys ends up on the root. Why that is well only the creator can answer that one.

i'll take a crack at it anyway ;p
keys.txt in /switch/kezplez-nx is only really meant to be the working keyfile the program adds to many times during runtime, then it gets copied to sd root. originally, the name stayed the same, now it's called prod.keys since many tools (starting with hactool i think) look for that. they will have the same contents if the program finishes successfully, so feel free to rename as needed.

Are they redundant, should I keep one over the other or both? Appreciate your earlier answer and assistance!

Your card is formatted as exFAT which the console does not support out of the box. You will need to format it to FAT32 for now.

Is it safe to do another nand backup after alreadying doing one and having my device fail to load CFW?

I can't download the SD files on my Mac. It always tells me "decompress didn't work"

EDIT: Found the solution. Safari tried to unpack it automatically, deactivated the feature in settings ➞ general. after that I unzipped the file with "the unarchiver" because the Mac on board tool couldn't do it.

Transfer the backup folder from sd card to pc then use the correct joiner script... Dont try to join on the sd card as you may run out of space or have issues, plus would be faster on pc ..

Thank you Canna for the guide. I have a few questions for you. I doing this for the first time on a brand new unpatched switch (confirmed from other thread)

    SWITCH : 4.1.0 stock

    1) You mentioned " install your apx driver" . What is apx driver ? Which folder is it located in ?

    2) When i insert 64GB SDXC card Switch requests to update. What should i do?

    1. When the Switch is in RCM, it will be listed as an APX device. This should automatically happen when you connect it to a Windows OS
    2. Format the SD card to FAT32 with a third-party program such as GUIFormat since your firmware does not currently support exFAT. This is not to be confused with using an exFAT formatted SD card in Hekate since Hekate is loaded in RCM aka outside of the Switch firmware.

Thank you Draxzelex for answering my questions.

And to anyone doing this for the first time the "APX Driver" is present within "TegraRcmGUI" within the "Settings" TAB click Install Driver.

PS - APX Driver does not install automatically on Window 7 64BIT, Need to install manually via above step.

I'm on fw version 1.0.0. Can I use a 256GB card to perform the backup? If so, does it need to be formatted to FAT32?
