I have Mario Kart and my kid already lost the first one I bought.
I want to know if there is any way to backup this game in case he loses it again.
    I have a DSi ver 1.4U
Tried backup tool wifi but found out it does not work on dsi
Anyone???? Is there a way to backup original games I own from the DSi?

As far as I know there is no way to do so on a DSi or newer model.

I think I remember the reason was since the DSi model, Nintendo made it so that if a card is removed from the card slot it shuts down the DSi or something like that.

You need a DS or DS lite. You could also order a SMS4 from neoflash. It is a USB device to dump the games directly to your PC

You don't exactly backup ds games instead you use flashcarts (Acekard R4i Etc) to store backups with out buying the game. please note that if you download a game that you don't have its illegal

You are supposed to back up your own games. It is still illegal to download a game you already own. Most people with flashcarts don't give a shit and download whatever they want.

Just my two cents but I usually back up a game when (As with the tale of Grand Bazaar), the only ROM choices are nuked releases with the header all messed up. So maybe OP wants to back up his game for more reasons than to just have it on an SD card.

    It depends on the country.
But in his case, yes, it would be illegal. (Unless he forgot to change the country in his profile.)
