Hey, I'm not new to the Wii hacking scene, but I haven't really been using the Wii for the better part of a year now, and I was wondering if anyone could point me to the solution to this simple problem.

I remember there was a way you could copy all your data, game saves, profiles, and whatnot from the Wii and store it on an SD card in case the Wii got bricked or if you wanted to transfer it between consoles. Can someone remind me the program used for this and how to do it?

    Thanks in advance.

Bootmii. And I am not so sure if its possible to transfer the bin and key files over to another Wii. Will need someone else to confirm this.

Well the thing is I'm planning on selling my console, but in the event that I ever want to buy one for cheap in the future I'll still have all my old game settings and junk. Is this possible?

Also I already have Bootmii installed, so all I would need to do is go to the SD Backup menu and hit Start with the SD in my Wii, correct?

Edit: is this what you're talking about?

Yes, that should back everything up. SD Menu and transfer icon from Wii to SD. But I remember reading somewhere that when one wii has a bad block somewhere and the other Wii doesn't have a bad block at that spot, you can get a brick. I am not so sure about that though. Hope we get someone in here that has more knowledge on bootmii backing up.

Edit: Looks like Betwiin would work.

i backed up my wii and if it ever bricks i just need to have the backup on the root of my sd card, start bootmii, and hit the button in the sd card options with the arrow pointing to the wii right?

Way to hijack the thread, but the answer is yes. That is all you'll have to do, make sure everything that is on the SD card now, is on the SD card when you have to restore the NAND.

You'll also need the keys.bin to restore your backup, nand.bin alone is not enough

And of course, you need the BootMii folder as well [IMG]
