Baba Yetu, the title for the opening theme of Civilization IV and V, has been nominated for a Grammy award. The video game theme, a first of its kind reorganization, has been nominated for the "Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists" category. This years Grammys will take place February 12th-13th.

Last I checked Civilization V didn't use that song... it's something else entirely. Unless something changed in an update?

I love this a lot LOL. As in, my friend introduced me to this song, then all of my friends suddenly memorized it and we used it in a project. We are all addicted to this song, although I'm the only one who's actually played Civilization already. It is a surprisingly popular song in our class now, everyone recognizes Baba Yetu already.

It's from Civ IV and it's getting nominated because it's being performed world wide by various choirs. The nomination, I believe, is for the specific performance at the PBS Video Games Live! show.

I like the song...but I really wish I hadn't read the translations of the lyrics. Completely demolished the song for me :\ Really sucks, too, cause it's not a bad song. I should've known, though, once I saw that it's sung by a gospel choir. Meh. Untranslated, the song is nice. Translated, it's shitty.

It's a beautiful song. Makes me want to get my CIV 4 CD.
I'll definitely watch the Grammy's this year, I usually forget 'cause I don't really care.

It's a beautiful song, regardless of what the translation is. I hope they win, giving gaming composers a shot in the future.
But now, this has made me succumb to my Civ addiction once more. See you guys in a week! XD
