Well I am saving up money for my Seagate Barracuda 500GB HD

and this D-Link DWL-G550 Wireless PCI Adapter

.I am getting the Wireless Network Card first.

I am basically asking what are you guys waiting on purchasing for your computer or lappy

I'm saving up for an 8800GTS graphic card, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz and a really sweet CPU cooler so I can overclock the 2.2GHz to 3.0GHz in preparation to play Crysis

Its going to be really expensive though

I'm hoping to get a fresh macbook. I just sent my ibook in and it's under warranty and basically unfixable, so unless they have spare parts for a 3 year old computer laying around, should be getting a fresh macbook. Wouldn't mind some more ram for my powermac though, sitting at 2.5gb on a dual 2.7ghz, stuff never comes down in price though.

well, the last thing I updated was my video card... but next I want to update my ram because I only have 1GB... I dont know HOW much ram I will get when I do buy some though.

I also want to get a media card reader for the empty floppy drive area...

after those 2 things, there isnt really anything else I might want. (if anyone knows of any cool addons, let me know ^^; )

Think about an 8800GT. It's about $100 less and out performs the GTS.

i need to upgrade my whole computer but I figure I can use both of mine in the new one. In fact as soon as I get the 500GB HD for Christmas I am whacking openSUSE on it. i also found out I am getting network adapter Thursday. Yay

You'd be surprised at how many parts they can still replace, unfortunately.
I hope for you that they replace the iBook with a Macbook, ofcourse, but last year when I sent in my old iPod, I hoped they were going to replace it with a new Video ipod.

For $1500-$2000, you can get an awesome laptop.

WHY GTS WHEN YOU CAN GET GT? Faster and cheaper.

Don't get an 8800GTS. The GT is about the same price as the 320MB and is Twice as good.

For $1500-$2000, you can get an awesome desktop.

Fixed that. a Laptop will be DECENT but no way will it be Awesome. an Awesome laptop is one that can get at least get high or medium in crysis and a 2k laptop can't.
