Here is a suggestion!

Remove uTorrent, remove AVG.
Run Microsofts AV and Malwarebyte side by side.
Get a decent torrent client like Deluge, qBittorrent, Azure or whatever you fancy, as long it isn't uTorrent.

You're being unreasonable. Not everybody uses AVG, don't expect answers tailored for your case.
I think the suggestion to try changing AVs was a good one, considering this.

Regarding old versions of uTorrent, they are full of unintentional vulnerabilities that make you a target for some kinds of attacks, of course those vulnerabilities aren't fixed if you don't update, and as you know, recent versions are full of spyware. Thus, I consider those suggestions to avoid uTorrent are quite good.

I'm being unreasonable how exactly? I encountered an issue and made a thread asking for help solving/troubleshooting it, but instead of any helpful advice, all I got was off-topic posts telling me how to avoid the issue, not fix it. If people don't use AVG, what are they doing replying? If you know nothing about something, how do you expect to solve the issue? You can easily not answer, meaning no clustering the thread with irrelevant posts that aren't helpful whatsoever, and instead just let it be for someone has more knowledge on the topic to come and help instead. That's how help works. It's like knowing nothing about 3DS hacking and replying on problem threads on the 3DS section saying "get a different system", no that's idiotic and is a shitpost. This isn't the EoF, so either provide some input on how to at least troubleshoot and find a cause or don't post, simple. If someone has problem with Windows and you go post "get Linux instead!1!1!1", isn't that a shitpost? Sure it wasn't in a shitpost-like fashion, but still largely unhelpful and completely irrelevant to solving the issue.

As for the μTorrent things you posted there, I'm fully aware, however, I only use my very own private trackers (literally own them) and use it to share files in a private network I have (too many different target devices, otherwise I would use TeamViewer or something), so by avoiding public trackers and hiding myself on top, it's 100% safe. So again, IF I had an issue about μTorrent, I would have said so, but most people would have understood by simple logic that it was an AVG issue (false flagging, not recognizing exceptions, etc., all of which was in the OP btw), you don't even need to know about AVG to get the grasp of the problem. Anyway, issue resolved by updating AVG to a stable version, can this thread die now?

As for anyone wondering why I use AVG, I might as well tell you all. I used to be a support dev for a small group before AVG hired us to do some debugging, instead of payment, we requested we get lifetime paid licenses for it (it was back when it was one of the best AVs around), so it's the best AV I got access to. As for μTorrent, I've taken the time to modify it myself, customizing some stuff to fit my use for it. Switching clients is too big a hassle as I'll have to do everything all over. Also, it's BY FAR the most RAM efficient p2p client and never spikes, literally taking only 4MBs, so it doesn't eat away at the rest of my processes. I have my RAM really full most of the time (96+% for almost 20 hours a day), meaning that even if the others only take up like 30-70MBs, it's not too good as it could max it out and cause everything to either crash or freeze.

PS: Sorry if I sound a bit aggressive, lots happening right now irl and having to deal with people just spamming the same unhelpful things is annoying!

Lol haven't been using virus scanners for like over 10 years now and my computer is still clean. Don't download dodgy things from dodgy websites and stop going on porn sites and your computer will be safe for all of eternity

There is no such thing as a "clean pc" without any form of malware or anti-virus. They can easily be affected by just watching an ad on a innocent site. But if you use your head you're mostly fine.
I myself run Linux and should be pretty safe on there.

I use an anti malware scanner and a windows based add blocker but there's no point in using a virus scanner for me. I never had any performance issues or whatsoever. As long as you don't do dodgy things on dodgy websites your fine without it and seeing i haven't had any problems for over 10 years now without one says enough

As I said, you're never safe. There are tons of way to get a hold of your PC with a virus even so. I'm not saying you should get a hold of one. But if you run Windows 8+ you already got an anti-malware and anti-virus preinstalled so it ain't really an issue today.

Are you seriously telling me to give up going on porn sites? Not gonna happen:P

Also, I spend over half the time I'm browsing on the deep web, so I kinda need plenty of protection, AVG is just what I use in general when not doing risky stuff, as it works fine for general use. So yeah, you try browsing deep web for hours and going on shady or illegal sites all the time without any protection on your computer and then try to tell me it's clean:rofl2: NoScript can only block so much you know...

I got many clean PCs, 100% clean, just straight after deep format without any access to the internet:P (not for security reasons or anything, just too lazy to put the Ethernet PCI card...)

i like qbittorrent but the thing has really shit speeds..
it forced me to switch back to uturrent, i don't really understand why this happens.. tested with the same torrents
It's because of how qBittorent treats p2p connections, resulting in each connection (meaning each peer) to have about 15% less speed at best. It's meant for security, but it's a pain if your connection is already pretty slow and mine is. Azureus (Vuse) is much better if you ask me, plenty of security, no performance loss, good stability and that browser it has built in is just amazing (always gets results unless you search for really rare stuff).

What I am curious about is what "hacks" u are using for simply downloading a torrent.
What do you mean exactly? And when did I say I use it for downloading? I use is for p2p sharing with multiple target devices (meaning I upload).

If you do browse on the deep web i wouldn't recommend it doing on a windows system but on Linux instead using a vpn and so forth. Maybe you already do that but if not i would def recommend you not doing it on a windows system plus deep web is basicly the same as dodgy websites so yeah

I don't have any form of antivirus on my computer besides Windows Defender, and never had a virus and never will. The trick is to keep ALL your software up to date, avoid third party software when possible, and if you have to use third-party software keep informed about them and switch when they start to deteriorate. Using old software because it "just works" is asinine in this connected world.

And if you are using an old version, then no shit it probably IS infected and the virus is stored in a chache somewhere that doesn't get deleted when you reinstall. Or AVG is trying to save your bacon and recognizes unsafe software.

i kinda wanted to try vuze but didn't found yet the need for it.
thanks for the tip, it kinda makes sense... in qbitorrent i was getting 600KBps at max, most times it was at 200KBps, i tried everything i could like playing with the upload speed limits.. playing with the encryption methods, changing ports...
utorrent in the same exact torrent, gave me the full steam of my internet connection that is 1.5~MBps

I guess I don't notice it because I assume I can only max out at 10MB/s... May try some other ones soon thooo

Because you said that it had shitty speeds
yes, it has shitty speeds, i don't understand your suggestion, you are talking about the limiting speed options? thoose are unlimited, usually i nerf\limit the upload speed a little, so the connection doesn't get saturated and i can download at max speed

But besides that, it's one of the best AVs around that ACTUALLY recognizes virus properly. You won't believe how easily stuff slip past Avast, McAfee, Norton, etc...
Stuff slips by AVG pretty easily too, I know this from experience.
There are other alternatives that are light and won't eat up resources in the background.
I use Panda Free Antivirus, it has one of the highest detection rates with low false positives and it's also light. And if you don't like that, then have a look at some AV comparisons, there are a bunch of good options out there.

In settings download speeds on qbittorrent are set to 10kbps on default and not to unlimited. Maybe you already knew that but just putting it out here

Utorrent has been shit for years... Take a hint from everyone in this thread and switch. Also from the sounds of it you edited the utorrent files. Maybe avg recognized you changed something from the norm
