    Hi all!

I just made a simple program called AutBootNDS that allows you to change your .nds files, so that you can auto boot them on Moonshell2, Acekard, and Games&Music cards.

Wait...I'm lost, you made a program that can...rename files o.0...and put them somewhere else. I'm at a loss of why anyone would go searching to open up your program and then change the settings and then browse/drag&drop(?) when they could just right-click and rename. Does this program actually do anything else?

Oh, btw the Moonshell2 option just says that there is no card type selected, and there is no way to autoboot something from moonshell2...for the most part, moonshell2 doesn't DO any booting...it just sends stuff to external loaders unless you use the ones it comes with that boot homebrew...but in any case, Moonshell2 can't autoboot anything.

Yes, it does more than that.

I am fixing the Moonshell one.

It renames them because the process that AutoBootNDS uses requires the file to be named for the specific card.

I'm really wondering what else it could possibly do xD...I mean, I guess it could auto dldi-patch the homebrew...but apart from renaming and dldi-patching, I don't recall anything else that needs to be done when swapping something as any autoboot...except for the R4 which you would have to encrypt for it to work.

On the moonshell2 autoboot, I just thought it is probably possible by replacing the reload.dat...but I can't understand the point of autobooting with MS2...since it's not a firmware and for the most part needs to be autobooted anyways or booted up normally. At that point, why would you even autoboot Moonshell2, you might as well just autoboot the homebrew right off the bat.

No offence but this app is pointless. You rename a NDS to either akmenu4.nds or bootme.nds and copy it to the root of a micro SD card. It should be noted it won't even work for most homebrew on AK. And I fail to understand what you mean "autoboot on MoonShell2"

Auto boot means that when the card runs at start, the homebrew automatically starts.

Well, some people want to auto boot homebrew, so I made this. [IMG]

Edit: I am thinking about making this a DS homebrew center type thing.

I am going to add something where you can select a C file and compile the nds in it, than you can choose the option to autoboot it.

Lol Sifjar and I both know what autobooting means, we are just at a loss of how your program could help anyone apart from idiotic nubs who are too lazy to search, in which case this program would easily go under the radar anyways.

It would be better off stuffed with the DS App Studio rather than trying to break it as a separate application...

    True, true.

Ok, I will. It is just that people have not payed attention to it.

Just to point out, DS App Studio is a Studio, so AutoBootNDS could be a tool.

Edit: I made for DS App Studio a command prompt that will have a command 'autboot\acek', 'autboot\ms2', and 'autboot\g&m'.

If SifJar means "System File is Missing", I agree...

Okay, I am fixing the bug that jurassic told me about. I am adding it to the tool kit of DSAL.

I am also thinking of making something called DSDK.NET, which allows you to compile DSAL code in notepad or programmers notepad.

Update: DS App Studio is actually reaching the top. [IMG]

I still fail to understand what on earth you mean "autoboot on moonshell2". "autoboot on g&m" and "autoboot on ak2" make sense, those are both cards. Moonshell2 is not a card, you can't set a homebrew to autoboot on moonshell2... [IMG]

Moonshell2 is a program on the card, so the nds would auto boot from moonshell2.

That phrase worries me...I don't think you understand what Moonshell2 does or what it is capable of doing...I would know, I hoard MS2 information to myself and I can tell you now that what you are saying in the above quote makes no sense whatsoever in terms of use or in any other form EXCEPT if you were autobooting TO moonshell2.

That was what I meant. Booting TO moonshell2.

I could just get rid of it if you want.

Well...do with it what you will, since you are the one programming it, but if you do leave it, I would suggest rewording that...

    Okay, I will.

I guess it sounds kind of confusing. [IMG]

Autobooting to MoonShell on what card? Its different for all different cards...the way it looks in the GUI, it implies that MoonShell is a card, and you are setting a homebrew to autoboot on that card, which is clearly ridiculous. Anyway, as was said, you are the programmer do what you want, but I also advise rewording if you do decide to keep it, and redesigning the GUI a bit perhaps.

I may just not continue the project, since a lot of people hate it.

I am including it with DS App Studio.

One of the methods to stop being hated is to open source code [IMG]

That method also could lead to other people claiming the work as their own. [IMG]
