This was the planning thread. I volunteered to be the first, but it was never published (for semi-obvious reasons), but now that things have changed I think it's safe to post it.

iFish, Monkat, PhoenixGoddess, RoxasIsSora, and Vulpes Abnocto asked questions, and I answered them (or not).

That's how I've always pronounced his name, (Rid-E-in) or (Rid-E-an), they sound the same.

and Lydia is Lid-ia
and Chlamydia is...you get the point...

I can see it being Rye-dian if you're thinking of the name Ryan though.

edit...now that I'm thinking about it...usually when the "y" comes before a consonant I usually pronounced it like the "i" in hit, (syllable, the words I listed above). When the "y" comes before a vowel I usually pronounced it like the "i" in silent, (Ryan, cyanide).

of course, there are exceptions. tyrant, pyre,...Rydian
