@burhansalih @Jacoghi turned out it was my television set that was quirky, had to remove it from the power for a few minutes it to get it working again, the updating of Atmosphère was just a coincidence.

Are you sure you followed the emuMMC part of the guide? The guide ask you to download the file hekae_ips.ini but it is a different file depending on whether you chose emuMMC or sysMMC earlier on in the guide. The file for sysMMC only have the two options you have but the file for emuMMC have 3 options. Try to download this file and copy it to sdcard:\bootloader and try again: https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/files/emu/hekate_ipl.ini

I have a question. Why is it on Atmosphere I always end up with a load of log files in atmosphere/erpt_reports...No matter how many times I delete the files I always end up with files back in that folder.

Is there a way to stop this?

Nope. That's the error reports. This prevents any logs from being sent to Nintendo. Only solution is not to crash the console xD

Is the PS4 FreeBSD network exploit that uses the IP V6 bug going to be ported to the switch since the switch uses FreeBSD for it's network stack?

The new ps4 hack I believe uses a freebsd exploit. I think the switch uses that same network stack which may be exploitable in the browser.

For the general public, it's really no difference. In the end it's much more custom firmware than using the classic.

Question: can you remove/reinsert a new or the same SDCard with new data on it while the Switch is on ? If so can this practice be any harmful?

No. The switch shuts down when you pull out the SD

while the switch is on and in HOS? no.
now if you were to say reboot to hekate, then you can eject the sd, as it will reload hekate when you put the sd card back in....

12.0.0 is a very major update under the hood in a way that is particularly difficult for atmosphere to deal with. I'll be giving updated support my all, but it will probably take a little longer than usual (I'm thinking on a timescale of a few extra days).

(I am also kind of sick right now, from pfizer vaccine side-effects. That might add a day or two, as well).

I obviously apologize for the inconvenience; I'll be doing my best.

Nintendo has switched the `sm` sysmodule (ipc server manager) to use a different, much leaner IPC protocol.

This new protocol will need to be reverse engineered and re-implemented for atmosphere to support 12.0.0; all homebrew which registers IPC servers will need to be recompiled, and this is kind of unavoidable.

I'm going to cut some corners to get support out the door faster -- the mitm API won't support the new IPC protocol at first, since that will take design thought and I don't want to rush it -- but the only service using the new protocol besides SM right now is pgl which nobody is mitm'ing so I think that's fine.

(Unfortunately, atmosphere reimplements pgl, so that's a little extra work on my plate, too).
