ATgames noob... Got an Atari Flashback handheld thing for xmas. CFW?

As title...

Completely out of my depth with this thing. Only had it out the box once. (I haven`t got the heart to tell her I hated Atari`s.

Tried pacman. WTF with that flicker???

Anyway... I`m assuming this uses emulation of some sort.

Much chance of doing anything with it? Maybe a NES game or Sega?

Or is it one of those console-on-a-chip thing (FPGA)?

Advice or info gratefully received before I strip it and try to do something creative with it.

BTW aren`t they made cheaply? Its like someone is having a piss on the Atari VCS

lol pacman (atari 2600) version always flickered that badly.

it takes atari 2600 roms, and the good folks at atariage have a pack for it, with the ones that dont' work right fixed or removed.

there is no hacking needed for the system.
