There is no such thing as arm9 patching a rom. You mean arm7 patching. You just unpack a DS rom, replace the arm7.bin file with one from a different game , and repack the rom.

Search for 'arm7' and you'll eventually find what you need.

I see, this is a game specific hack. There is no other way swapping an arm9.bin file would work, as that is the main game code. The arm7 fix is a more general fix for a large number of games that didn't (or still don't) work on poorly supported flashcarts.

So this hack is fake? or the maker named the file arm9 by mistake?

I don't know, I'd never heard of it until just now. It sounds like someone hacked the arm9.bin file from Guitar Hero to let you play without the silly finger thingy, then decided to distribute the hack in the least user friendly manner possible instead of just using a standard patch file.

You'll need to unpack the .nds file, replace the arm9.bin file, and repack the .nds file to get it working (assuming I understand what we're talking about here).

Right, the ARM9 is a game-specific thing, so this arm9.bin file will ONLY be useful for the Guitar Hero game. The ARM7 is something that developers are not allowed to modify at all, so you can usually swap it out with a random game (usually to get it running on a flash cart in the first place).

I'll admit this is the first time I've seen the ARM9 being swapped out with any game.
