My 3DS shows the ARM 11 (core 1) error when I try to start Luigi's Mansion and Samus Returns. I've tried everything, including Luma Locale and importing seeds via FBI, but nothing works. I'm on the latest version of Luma, my 3DS is USA region, and no CIAs work.

Majora's Mask had the same issue, but it worked when I downloaded it from HShop. However, the other titles I mentioned still don't work.

Is your SD card going bad? I grabbed both of these from the same source very recently, and they both work just fine on my N3DS. So, it's not a bad dump or anything. Run h2testw against your card to see if it's starting to die.

My SD is new and original, certified on the SanDisk website. In any case, I tested it on other devices, and the error persists.

Are these systems on the latest console firmware? Not Luma, but the actual firmware for the device. I also don't really understand why you would need to use seeds or locale switching if the games are for your region. Anyway, you could also try disabling the ARM11 exception handler, but I kinda doubt that'll help.

Just the normal way through System Settings > Other Settings > System Update. It's safe to update this way when using B9S.

Ah, I was afraid of that. Well, feel free to re-enable it. It's more useful on than off.

Is it possible to update like this even with the Nintendo servers down? I'm going to try this. I'm going to take a screenshot of the error.

Yes, it is possible. In fact, I'm kind of surprised it's not nagging you to update. I just recently brought mine back to life after leaving it in a cabinet for around 7 years, and it was also on a 10.x firmware. Every little thing I did made an update prompt show up. Are you using some kind of DNS trick to suppress update nags, or anything of that nature? If so, you might want to disable that.

Dude! Thanks so much, I updated the console, opened Metroid Samus, and suddenly everything worked!

I had already tried absolutely everything; I was about to sell my 3DS and buy another one.

Nice! Glad that ended up being the solution. I'm kind of wondering if these games were trying to launch the update prompt, but couldn't for some reason, which led to the crash. At any rate, though, good to hear that worked.

Maybe yes, especially because my console rarely notified me to update with the update prompt like you mentioned happening with yours.

I just installed Luigi's Mansion and everything is fine; I can finally enjoy it. Thanks again!

The one problem I have with a lot of beard balms like that is that they smell so intensely that it's like the only thing I can smell for an hour
  • Veho @ Veho:
Question, what does a beard balm/wax actually do? Is it just a hair oil product, or does it act as a gel and shapes it or what?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
Yeah it's a hair oil, kind of like a leave-in conditioner, but it also helps to keep your skin under the beard moisturized a bit, and since it is oily it does help a tiny bit with helping it hold its shape or lay flatter especially after brushing it

I rarely ever use it, really only if I'm going out and trying to look/smell a tiny bit nicer. Kind of like how I treat cologne lol

The one I have right now that I use every once in a while is tobacco + vanilla scented. It smells -fantastic- IMO, but same issue, for like the first hour or two it is just an ever present scent that I smell on every single inhale.
