How can I repent my sins then?
Repenting is a great way to turn away from sin and toward god.
Perhaps maybe his meaning is, we have all sinned and since sin is a stain, it cannot be washed off, so we are stained by sin however only Jesus can wash our sin away. We simply cannot be as pure as Jesus (at least in this life) as Jesus have not sinned at all.
Repentance is a step in the right direction and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and having faith.
Confessing your sin and asking for forgiveness can lead to being forgiven. Of course you may already know this?
Then I find this verse:
Code:
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Then this one
Code:
1 John 1:8
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Code:
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
So, I'm not sure if the last verse means that the blood of Jesus will clean us from all sin when we move on from our physical body or while we are still in our physical body. If it is the former, then technically we still bear the sins, but if I am correct, it is forgiven, especially after asking for forgiveness of it.
