it would make more sense to get a DSi with the lowest numerical firmware in case a later version of the DSi firmware being unhackable at the moment you do get a cycloDS compatible version and inability to downgrade from that.

There are pros and cons to everything, this is just one advantage of being first.

I don't think I'll be buying a DSi anytime soon.....if ever, so my regular CycloDS will be fine for me and my DSlite.

I will be getting one, but it will be sitting in my closet until my DS dies or something more favorable in meantime shows up.

I already have an AK2i, but when/if an EDGEi becomes available for under $20 at DX,
I will probably buy some of those for myself. family and friends.
I preordered a blue DSi the first day Amazon.com started taking preorders.
I do not expect to buy a CycloDSi for over twice the price of an EDGEi.

I can imagine the price of the CycloDSi is going to be frightening.

I'll buy a DSi flashcart when we can run DSi games on them, there's no point in getting a flash cart for DSi if you can already play the SAME games on your lite or Phat.

I just ordered an Acekard 2i, and I bought my DSi just today.

Loving it, looking forward to playing my CycloDS games that I bought, on my Acekard 2i combo, lol.

I'm still not even really sold on the DSi. Unless it comes out that games like KH have extra bits that can only be accessed through DSi, then I'm going to sit on the sidelines for a bit.

You're probably right, but if their previous product is any indicator, it'll be worth the price.

I'm not going to buy a DSi. The new features are DSi Sound (I already have moonshell), a black hole in your DS (camera) and flash memory (which enables firmware updates!!!).

I'll wait until DSi flashcarts are in their second or third generation before making a decision.
