Many people are very unhappy about the fact that the new kernel 1.12 is crap, since it only fix 1 issue about the saves. Personally, I don't give a shit about the updates R4 has, other than fixing game compatibility issues, since I'm already very happy to have a flashcart to play games and play some media stuff. Of course, those are just my opinion and greatly differs from person to person.

EDIT: Special thanks to sinkhead for giving me the confidence to open replies for this topic.

Wow. from all the bitching in other topics I would have thought there'd be more no than yes. Good to know most people think being able to play the games is the most important feature

I'd only expect updates if there was something wrong with the R4. Homebrew compatibility is great, ROM compatibility is great, the included version of moonshell is up to date. What's wrong with it? Are there still some ARM7 problems?

They probably only released this update to show that they were still supporting their cart.

With all the people that were complaining about the so-called lack of support, they probably felt it was better to release something small now than to wait until they had more creamy goodness ready for a bigger update.

cheesyPOOF5: The only remaining issues are the problem with Wii connectivity, and the lack of SDHC support. The latter will supposedly require new hardware to fix.

there is just one game that I would like to have fixed, and that one only affects a small number of players (D/P + PBR). SDHC is not important for my needs.

Gambia, The
wii connectifity is the feature, more games will come to support it.
I am actually really wondering there are so little games to support it.
compared to wii/ds there were really a lot of games for cube/gba and for that you needed extra hardware.

Wow. from all the bitching in other topics I would have thought there'd be more no than yes.
That's because 0% of complaints come from people who are completely satisfied, and 100% come from people who are not completely satisfied, and as such, complaint threads are not a good way to accurately gauge public opinion.

Yes, I do want consistant updates. Only to know they're still alive.

I'm happy for 1.12. Now I can trim ROMs which previously had ARM7 problems.

So, 1.12 does kinda help. +1 space for ROMs.

As for SDHC and Wii connectivity? I want Wii connectivity before it becomes big with lotsa games. And SDHC, I don't care for. I have 2 2GB SD Micros, no SDHCs. I guess I could sell those on eBay, and get a 4GB SDHC if the feature ever comes in. It'd save a bit-o-money, and add some convenience. So, I'm waiting for Wii/DS.

Well, I'm sad that this update was only small and only fixed one problem, but on the other hand, I'm happy that the R4 is still going.

Not concerned at all, I honestly don't see what's left to update, the R4 has 100% compatibility and even if it didn't I'm sure homebrew patches will emerge for games (it's just the fact most R4 users are fucking lazy bastards).

Wow, I'm surprised to see that more people are not concerned about the R4 updates. Since I have no Wii, so Wii connectivity is none of my business, as for SDHC support, it isn't a big conern of mine since SDHC would most likely cost an arm and leg for me.

This makes me wonder, people say that CycloDS receives more frequent update than R4, what exact are those updates??
