Hardware Are using a BC PS3 and PS2 (both with composite cables) the same quality/performance on CRT?

I have a CECHA01 PS3 (that's the launch one with the PS2 hardware built right in, not the software one). IF I use a composite cable, and plug it into a non-HD/non-HDMI CRT (I have a 27 inch Sony Trinitron), is the signal really coming out at true analog? If so, that means no latency issues?
If this is the case, wouldn't PS2 games look and play identical, if the PS2 game is playing on an original PS2 also using a composite cable?

On another site, I've seen conflicting answers. Some say that no matter what you do, the BC PS3 will introduce some digital-element or processing when using analog composite. I also know PS3 cannot output at 240p.
I've also read that there'd be no difference.
